On the relationship between mechanical and electronic engineering and artificial intelligence

Mechanical and electronic engineering is very different from traditional mechanical engineering. It combines electronic technology with mechanical engineering to give full play to their uses. These two are not only related to their respective functions, but also related to information. On the basis of traditional mechanical engineering only connecting energy and function, mechanical and electronic engineering adds information, which will make mechanical and electronic engineering more intelligent.

First, the development of mechanical and electronic engineering

The development of mechatronics engineering has experienced three stages: manual processing, assembly line and flexible manufacturing system. The previous stages are all traditional mechanical engineering, and the third stage is the beginning of the development of real mechanical and electronic engineering. Electronic technology and mechanical engineering interact in some way to form mechanical and electronic engineering, which is the result of the development of electronic technology in the 20th century. At first, the combination of the two is only the relationship between separated blocks, or the complementarity of function and structure. Since the beginning of this century, information has linked mechatronics engineering with artificial intelligence and made achievements in a new direction.

Second, the development of artificial intelligence.

Artificial intelligence is not an isolated discipline, it integrates many disciplines such as informatics, and its appearance provides a new direction for the development of many disciplines. The development of artificial intelligence began with the development of computers. The 1950s was the first development stage of artificial intelligence, during which some progress was made. From the mid-1960s to the early 1970s, the development of artificial intelligence encountered setbacks. In the late 1970s, artificial intelligence was further developed. After the new technology of network technology is applied to artificial intelligence, the development of artificial intelligence is gradually stable.

Third, the relationship between mechanical and electronic engineering and artificial intelligence

The use of artificial intelligence methods in mechatronics system, from modeling to control and diagnosis, uses information to solve problems to some extent. Mechanical and electronic systems are often inherently nonlinear or unstable, so it is difficult to describe the input-output relationship of such a complex system. There are usually three ways to describe the input-output relationship of a system, that is, to establish a mathematical relationship through physical equations, to establish a rule base based on experience, and to generate knowledge through event learning. Based on theoretical analysis and mathematical derivation, the method of establishing system causality by analytical mathematics is rigorous and accurate, but it is often only suitable for relatively simple linear invariant systems. For complex systems, it is still difficult to give mathematical analytical formulas. Moreover, even if the analytical mathematical model is given, the computational complexity will increase sharply or cannot be calculated because of nonlinearity, uncertainty and incomplete information. Because mechanical and electronic systems are becoming more and more complex, they must deal with different types of information. Because the intelligent processing process is based on the known information, the process is complex, full of unknowns, and there is no specific implementation. Artificial intelligence provides a new solution for analyzing problems that mathematics can't solve.

In the process of building a complex system model, there are two methods to achieve the goal: fuzzy logic system and neural network. Fuzzy system simulates the function of human brain to process language signals, and its physical meaning is clear. Neural network, as its name implies, imitates human neural structure to process digital signals. Although neural network or fuzzy logic system can alleviate and control the complex challenges of mechanical and electronic systems to some extent, a single method cannot solve more complex systems. More and more mechatronics researchers or artificial intelligence researchers realize the importance and inevitability of replacing simple systems with integrated systems. Fuzzy neural network is a brand-new system which combines these two systems. Fuzzy logic system has low computational complexity and neural network has high input and output accuracy. Fuzzy neural network combines the advantages of both, abandons unnecessary parts and forms a new method.

They interact and play a very important role in each other's development. The interaction between mechanical and electronic engineering and artificial intelligence has formed a brand-new industry.
