1, wheelchair

Wheelchairs are the most frequently used assistive devices, which can be roughly divided into nursing wheelchairs (used when someone is watching) and self-propelled wheelchairs (most widely used at present). High-back wheelchairs (used when sitting and lying at a large angle or with limited activities), electric wheelchairs (requiring users to be conscious and quick to respond) and functional wheelchairs (including hand-cranked wheelchairs and unilaterally driven wheelchairs, suitable for unilateral hemiplegia).

2, crutches, walking sticks

When the lower limbs are inconvenient to move, crutches and canes are often used as AIDS. Crutches are generally suitable for patients with severe hip and knee arthritis or ankle joint diseases. Old people who have arthritis symptoms at first can help with crutches, which is helpful to reduce the load on their knees. Be sure to be steady, the rubber pad in the underarm support should be elastic, and there should be a rubber head at the bottom of the crutch.

Common walkers include two-wheeled walkers and four-wheeled walkers. If you need a walker to support your weight, you'd better choose a two-wheeled walker. Older people with relatively good balance ability can choose a four-wheeled walker.

Article 2 A disabled person refers to a person who is mentally, physically and structurally disabled or whose organization and function are abnormal, and who completely or partially loses the ability to engage in certain activities in a normal way.

Disabled people include people with visual disabilities, hearing disabilities, speech disabilities, physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, mental disabilities, multiple disabilities and other disabilities.

Disability standards are formulated by the State Council.

Article 3 Disabled persons enjoy equal rights with other citizens in political, economic, cultural, social and family life.

The civil rights and personal dignity of disabled people are protected by law.

Discrimination on the basis of disability is prohibited. It is forbidden to insult or infringe upon the disabled. It is forbidden to degrade or damage the personality of disabled people through mass media or other means.

Article 4 The state adopts auxiliary means and supportive measures to give special help to disabled people, reduce or eliminate the influence of disability and external obstacles, and ensure the realization of the rights of disabled people.

Fifth people's governments at or above the county level shall incorporate the cause of the disabled into the national economic and social development plan, strengthen leadership and comprehensive coordination, incorporate the funds for the cause of the disabled into the fiscal budget, and establish a stable funding guarantee mechanism.
