Design and manufacture of alarm clock back cover: an example of graduation thesis

Three years of study in college passed quickly. In order to test the learning effect of these three years, in addition to the usual exams and experimental tests, it is more important to integrate theory with practice, that is, the topic of this design is the injection mold for the back cover of the alarm clock.

This graduation project comes from life and is widely used, but the molding is difficult and the mold structure is complex, which is a test for the mold staff. Strengthened the understanding of plastic mold forming principle, and at the same time exercised the ability to design and manufacture plastic molds.

This design takes the back cover mold of mobile phone as the main line, and integrates a series of mold production processes, such as molding industry analysis, mold structure design, mold parts processing methods, and mold assembly, which can play a very good role in applying what they have learned. While designing the mold, the general methods and steps of mold design in the past, the formulas, data, mold structure and parts commonly used in mold design are summarized, and the basic courses learned before are integrated into this comprehensive design. In the design, in addition to using traditional methods, CAD, Pro/E and other technologies are also cited, and office software is used to reduce the degree of labor and improve work efficiency.

In recent years, molds have developed very rapidly, and molds with high efficiency, automation, large size, miniaturization, precision and long life account for an increasing proportion of the total mold output. From the perspective of mold design and manufacturing, the development trend of mold can be divided into the following aspects:

(1) Deepen theoretical research

In the mold design, the research on process principle is getting deeper and deeper. The mold design has gone through the design stage and gradually developed into all aspects of theoretical and technical design, which greatly improved the output and quality of products.

(2) high efficiency and automation

A large number of high-efficiency automatic mold structures are adopted. The combination of high-speed automatic molding machinery and advanced molds has played a great role in improving product quality, productivity and reducing costs.

(3) Large, ultra-small and high precision

Due to the expansion of product application, a variety of large-scale, precise and long-life molding dies have emerged. In order to meet these requirements, various molding materials with high strength, high hardness, high wear resistance, easy processing, small heat treatment deformation and excellent thermal conductivity have been developed.

(4) Innovating mold manufacturing technology.

In the mold manufacturing process, in order to shorten the mold manufacturing cycle and reduce the locksmith's workload, great improvements have been made in the mold processing technology, especially in the processing of special-shaped cavities, which not only greatly improves the proportion of mechanical processing, but also improves the processing accuracy.

Carrying out standardization work not only greatly improves the production efficiency of molds, but also improves the quality and reduces the cost.

Purpose and significance of research or design: By learning some commonly used 3D softwares and using these 3D CAD softwares to carry out the manufacturing simulation design of the back cover of mobile phones, we can deeply understand the design and manufacturing simulation of molds, and understand the principles and processes of the design and manufacturing simulation of molds. The manufacturing simulation design of mobile phone back cover is easy to learn and use, but it basically includes the whole process of mold manufacturing simulation design, which is a typical mold manufacturing simulation design. The beautiful appearance of mobile phone is composed of several parts, and each part of design and manufacturing simulation is used in the whole process of mold design and manufacturing simulation, and its principle is similar. From product mapping, injection molding machine selection to the determination of parting surface and mold base structure, every step is a link that cannot be ignored. Effective methods are used to design and manufacture complex, beautiful, high-precision and long-life finished products to meet the needs of users, so is the simulation design of mold manufacturing. I. Main research or design contents, key problems to be solved and ideas:

The main research contents are: manufacturing simulation of mobile phone back cover in mold design and manufacturing.

The key problems to be solved are: learning 3D software and analyzing mold design. The back cover of mobile phone is divided into two parts, one is a simple battery cover; The other part is more complicated, including the holes of the camera and external speakers. There are many lines when using the mold design software, which brings great difficulties to the design. In this case, how to make it more beautiful and practical is the main purpose of the design.

Thinking: Learn 3D software seriously, understand the connotation and principle of mold design and manufacturing simulation, analyze the shortcomings of the existing mobile phone back cover, update the design by using the latest 3D design software and independent thinking, eliminate the shortcomings in the previous mobile phone design, solicit the needs of users, design simulation conforms to the user's design, make the improved mobile phone more in line with the user's psychology, and provide better and faster development space for the beauty and practicality of the mobile phone.
