The techniques of bamboo flute and flower tongue sound were used in Kunqu Opera and other local operas earlier. During the Republic of China, influenced by western singing and enunciation, the application of bamboo flute and flower tongue playing techniques was promoted, but the related music scores were rarely handed down and the technical symbols were not finalized. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the flower tongue technique in bamboo flute performance began to be widely used as a special technique in the creation and performance of flute music, and gradually formed its own rules in the application of flower tongue technique. To sum up, the tongue sound skills of bamboo flute flowers are mainly used in warm and cheerful, humorous, imitating nature and passionate music performance.
