Evolution, the first two books, Evolution, Ethics and Others, is an anthology of British biologist Huxley's views on Darwin and the laws of evolution. The main purpose of Yan Fu's translation of The Theory of Evolution is to publicize the evolutionary thought of "natural selection, survival of the fittest", which shocked thousands of people in China and gave Hu Shi his name. As soon as the theory of evolution was published, it swept the country and became the ideological weapon of the reformists.
