Major projects in the field of space structure engineering at home and abroad include: Capital Gymnasium, Islamabad Gymnasium of Pakistan, Shenzhen Airport Terminal, National Grand Theatre, National Parliament Building of Mali, National Swimming Pool of 2008 Olympic Games, 325m-high air pollution detection tower in Beijing, multi-storey and multi-span grid structure of Nanhai Giant Buddha, 35m× 35m multi-storey combined grid structure of Xinxiang Department Store, and ten thousand tons of fruit cold storage in Tianjin. Major scientific research project achievements 14, such as calculation method of long-span grid roof structure, Capital Gymnasium, Beijing 325m high air pollution detection tower, application technology of multi-storey and long-span building composite grid roof structure, and research on strength, stability and dynamic characteristics of new spatial structure, won the National Science Conference Award 1978, the third prize of national scientific and technological progress, and the provincial and ministerial awards respectively. * * * Co-chaired the compilation and revision of Code for Design and Construction of China Grid Structure and Technical Specification for Reinforced Concrete Elevated Slab Structure. He founded and edited Spatial Structure, the only magazine in China. Published more than 200 papers in magazines and academic conferences at home and abroad. The main works include the analysis theory and calculation method of spatial grid structure, combined grid structure and vierendeel grid structure, and the analysis, design and construction of new spatial structure.
