When choosing the theoretical basis of the thesis, the argument should be closely related to the central argument, so as to unify the viewpoints and arguments. It is generally accepted that the argument of choice must be typical, that is, representative and universal.

Classical works, authoritative speeches, well-known examples, principles, laws and formulas of natural science. Some students are used to reasoning with people around them and their own experiences when writing because they don't accumulate enough at ordinary times. Needless to say, authenticity is difficult to identify, contingency is also great and unconvincing.

When reading papers and documents, you should be careful, find the right method, have conclusions and key points, but also have theories. Otherwise, you only know the result, but you don't know why it is this result, and you lack a logical link.

At the same time, for particularly important documents, you might as well make a reading note and extract important viewpoints and expositions. In this way, one step at a time, when I really started writing my thesis, I accumulated a lot of "dry goods" that I could enjoy at any time.
