There are many reasons for the evolution of word meaning. Among them, the significance of psychological factors such as thinking and association to the evolution of word meaning is gradually recognized and valued by academic circles. As the carrier of psychological activity or state, the evolution of the meaning of psychological verbs directly reflects the cognitive process and emotional change process of human beings. Therefore, the study of the semantic evolution of psychological verbs is conducive to improving our understanding of psychological factors in the semantic evolution. At the same time, psychological verbs, as a special subclass of verbs, have rich meanings and have experienced a long history of meaning evolution, and their sources, evolution process and evolution motivation need to be further explored. In this paper, the meaning of psychological verbs in ancient Chinese is investigated in batches by clustering method. According to the different original meanings, psychological verbs can be divided into two categories: "the original meaning is non-psychological words" and "the original meaning is psychological verbs". Divide "non-psychological words" into nouns, adjectives and verbs according to the different parts of speech, respectively investigate the evolution process and law of psychological verbs derived from each kind of non-psychological words, and then summarize the law of non-psychological words evolving into psychological verbs as a whole. The original meaning of psychological verbs can be divided into four categories according to their extension direction: psychological verbs, nouns, adjectives, ordinary verbs and adverbs. Discuss the extension process and law of each category respectively, and then summarize the law that the whole category of psychological verbs extends non-psychological words. Finally, by comparing the evolution characteristics of two kinds of words, that is, "non-psychological words evolve into psychological verbs" and "psychological verbs evolve into non-psychological words", the different characteristics of these two reverse extension processes are revealed. The research on the concept field of psychological verbs is also the application of clustering method, that is, this paper clusters psychological verbs expressing the same concept into a concept field, and through the analysis of the origin and evolution of the whole part of speech, reveals how different forms of words evolved into the same concept and its evolution reasons. Based on the analysis of a large number of psychological verbs, this paper discusses the position, research value and significance of core meaning in the word meaning system, and the types of word meaning extension of "homophonic extension".
