Yang, born in 1939, professor. 1960 graduated from Xi jiaotong university and stayed there to teach: 1993-2006 taught at Shanghai electric power institute. He used to be the Deputy Secretary-General of Shanghai Solar Energy Society, a member of China Electric Power Engineering Society, and a member of the New Energy Power Generation Committee of China Institute of Electrician. Now he is the honorary director of the Solar Energy Research Institute of Shanghai University of Electric Power, a director of China Renewable Energy Society, and a member of the Photovoltaic Professional Committee, enjoying special allowances from the State Council. He has been engaged in the research on the application technology of solar photovoltaic power generation for a long time, undertaken and completed a number of key research projects and scientific research topics during the Sixth Five-Year Plan, presided over a number of projects such as the development of a 600-watt photoelectric pump, developed a variety of photovoltaic application products, and won several provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological achievement awards and national scientific and technological achievement award certificates: he has compiled three sets of photovoltaic system design software and published more than 60 academic papers.
