The main research directions are: air traffic flow management, airspace planning, air traffic system safety and efficiency analysis, airport management and informatization, route economy and flight optimization, air transport revenue management, air logistics, air transport economic geographic information management, engine detection, diagnosis and risk assessment, maintenance decision theory and digital realization technology, vehicle running quality research and simulation, vehicle running automation and control, flight simulator, real-time monitoring of aircraft health and running safety, and integrated theory and realization technology of traffic control.

Guided by "strengthening the academy academically" and taking "serving civil aviation" as its own responsibility, the College actively conducts various scientific research and academic exchanges with foreign countries based on the strong scientific research strength and multidisciplinary foundation of China Southern Airlines. Since the establishment of the hospital, it has undertaken and completed four national "2 1 1 projects" in the Ninth Five-Year Plan and the Tenth Five-Year Plan, targeted at more than 60 national provincial and ministerial-level topics such as civil aviation safety, air traffic control, air transport planning and management, and civil aviation information construction, and cooperated with civil aviation enterprises and institutions for more than 40 projects 140, and won more than 20 national provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological progress awards. In particular, the actual research funding of the college totals nearly 40 million yuan.
