Plane composition is one of the basic theories of modern plastic arts. This paper mainly expounds the laws and regulations of design forms involved in two-dimensional graphic design. Plane composition is an organic combination of perceptual design factors and rational design thinking. Although the knowledge of plane composition is only based on two-dimensional space, the formal rules contained in it are applicable to any other design field, so plane composition is a basic subject that our future design students must master.
The modeling elements of plane composition include the image of plane composition, the basic elements of plane composition, the application of prototype in plane composition and so on.
If there are traces on a plane, then the image of this plane can be called the image of the plane. There are many kinds of images on the plane. Whether a material can form a sense of touch on a plane or not, it is still a visual image. The elements of an image include shape, size, color, texture and many other aspects.
Shape refers to the edges and features of the inner and outer contours of an image. Stereo images will form different shapes on the plane due to different distances and angles.
Size refers to the quantitative change of image. The size of a plane image indicates the distance between three-dimensional images.
Color refers to the different tones of an image. Is how people feel about light.
Texture refers to the external expression of the inner essence of an image. On the plane, it is represented by color blocks and various textures.
The change of image space can show the change of people's own position and observation angle.
The basic elements of plane composition-point, line and surface have played a great role in the design. Because everyone's personality, psychological state and cultural literacy are different. The combination of point, line and surface will present various changes.
For the description of a point, we can regard it as the beginning of all forms. It is a visualization unit with spatial position and vectorization characteristics. Points have no area, and only play a role in prompting the position of the image on the plane. When the point moves, the vision moves with it.
In point-based graphic design, we should not only see the flexibility of points, but also pay attention to the instability of points, and make full use of the rich convergence and divergence effects brought by the changes of the size, direction and position of points. In the design process, we should pay attention to the following issues:
Balance of picture effect. Due to the lack of certain directionality of points, the aggregation of multiple points can also produce certain gravity changes, so we can balance the picture effect by adjusting the distance and area of points in design;
Importance of design center. Similarly, due to the lack of directionality of points, the ambiguity of design center is easy to appear in the main plane design. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the prominence of the design center in this kind of design. We can highlight the design center by increasing the area of points, increasing the density of design centers and weakening the number of points in the surrounding environment.
Utilization and avoidance of optical illusion. Points will produce optical illusion, so we should pay attention to the prevention of counties in the design process, make use of the advantages of optical illusion to avoid the adverse effects of optical illusion.
The line is the extension and expansion of the point, and it is the trajectory of the point. The line has clear directionality. In design, we often use the directionality of lines to guide the observer's line of sight, and lines show rich visual effects with the continuous change of direction.
Line has distinct characteristics, mainly in the length of the line, and the length is determined according to the movement of points; In addition to the amount of movement, the speed of point movement also dominates the change of line characteristics. The length \ thickness of lines is also relative. When the length of the line is reduced to a certain proportion, under the influence of the environment, the properties of the line begin to decay in the direction of the point, and when the width of the line exceeds a certain proportion, the line begins to evolve in the direction of the surface. In visual design, lines can better express natural features than points, and lines play an important role in modeling. The closed line form determines the outline of the face, and the faces and solids contained in nature can be expressed through lines. The visibility of lines is a very important factor and has a very important position.
In line-based graphic design, we should pay special attention to the influence of the speed, strength and direction changes of lines on people's psychological feelings. Many emotional connotations lie in grasping the whole painting power. Both elegant and rounded lines and lines with strong sense of speed should be combined with the requirements of the creative center, so as to get satisfactory results.
According to the definition in geometry, a surface is the trajectory of a straight line. The direction of the straight line must be at a certain angle with the straight line, and the surface has a position, a length and a width. The surface has no thickness. From the description of morphology, we can divide surfaces into geometric surfaces and natural surfaces \ real surfaces and imaginary surfaces. These different faces have different visual psychological effects.
People also have illusions, which are often encountered in design. We can master the illusion principle of curved surface in design and use it flexibly, so that we can get better results.
When the main component of a plane is a plane, it is extremely important to coordinate the relationship between the figure and the bottom. Adjusting the spatial balance of "negative line" while overlapping and reducing the main surface can make us move steadily to the successful stage of design. Secondly, although most of the elements studied in the plane composition appear in black and white, the color of the plane also provides us with many design possibilities in real design. It can change many inherent properties to produce novel designs.
Basic form is the basic unit image of design form composed of basic elements such as points, lines and surfaces. Design is to take an image as the basic form and form various forms of expression through different combinations. As an effective means of logo design, the design method of repeating basic forms has been widely used in the actual design process. It changes repeatedly with a single basic form, creating a new artistic form with visual impact and providing a broader and richer design space for the logo.
In the process of composition, the basic form of repetition can change the direction or adjust the area according to the needs of the image, thus forming a rhythmic beauty. There are both changes and a strong sense of order.
The design method of repeating the basic form is one of the many methods of logo design. In the specific design process, we should not only have the ability to judge the simplicity and complexity of the basic form, but also master the characteristics and application forms of the repeated basic form to create symbolic works with aesthetic value.
Point, line and plane are the basis of plane composition, and the composition of any shape can not be separated from the use of point, line and plane. No matter how complicated and changeable the contents and forms of graphic images are in graphic design. As a visual language, the most basic modeling elements that constitute a graphic image are points, lines and surfaces. The changes and combinations of points, lines and surfaces form vivid graphic images.
The modeling element of plane composition is an essential factor in our design, and all our design works are inseparable from its combination and quantitative change.
