Shi Sizhen's Social Contribution
He has published more than 100 papers in professional magazines at home and abroad, and edited or edited more than 10 books. Her research on a series of measures for the prevention and treatment of dental caries in children and the growth and development of dentition is particularly prominent. The research results of deciduous tooth caries, deciduous tooth deformity, deciduous dentition and caries sensitivity have filled many gaps in this major in China.

Take the 6-year-old as an example, the caries rate of children's deciduous teeth can reach about 90%, and the overall caries rate of children is over 50%. Every year, hundreds of millions of children suffer from various deciduous teeth diseases, equivalent to the total population of Japan. The development of children's stomatology is directly related to the quality of population and the development of social economy in China. Shi Sizhen has a profound understanding of this and a high sense of responsibility. Over the years, she aimed at the development track of international children's stomatology, and constantly explored to find a way to develop children's stomatology in line with China's national conditions.

She tirelessly investigated the growth and development of deciduous teeth caries, deformed teeth and dentition of tens of thousands of children, and obtained a large number of data on deciduous teeth caries rate of children in China for the first time, which added a lot of basic data for children's stomatology in China.

She established a children's oral health care base in the kindergarten of Shanghai Medical University on 1994 by using her accumulated domestic and foreign relations and self-raised funds and equipment. Regular oral examinations were conducted on four kindergartens in the city 1600 children, and the influence and changes brought by the times and social development on children's oral development were tracked. On this basis, the only children's stomatology research institute in China was established. She raised more than 5 million instruments and equipment and a large number of foreign language books, which contributed to the establishment of reading rooms in scientific research institutes and universities. Its advanced instruments and equipment, rigorous management and profound academic attainments have made the Institute a training base for professional doctors and graduate students, and at the same time attracted colleagues from developed countries to take the initiative to ask for cooperative research. In 2003, with the support of Tongji University and other parties and on the basis of the Institute of Children's Stomatology, a clinical center for children's stomatology named after her was established. Its equipment can be said to be leading in China and first-class in the world. For example, the digital oral and maxillofacial CT machine is one of the only two in China, which is envied by peers.

The discipline she is responsible for has been listed as a provincial and ministerial key discipline and a leading medical major. As the leader of the discipline, she has undertaken extremely heavy scientific research and teaching tasks, with more than 20 graduate students alone, and the teaching workload can be imagined. At the same time, she designed and planned the development and construction of the discipline, and designed and created a four-in-one model of children's stomatology development base, which was the first in China. She also attaches great importance to team building. In the usual teaching and scientific research, she let young comrades play freely and used her own relationship to send graduate students and young doctors abroad for training, which reached 10 person-times in the first half of 2000-2003 alone. When she watched a young doctor successfully master Japanese and English translation, a knowing smile appeared on her face.

She won the respect and admiration of her peers for her academic attainments and pioneering spirit, and was elected as the editor-in-chief of the national college planning textbook and the editor-in-chief of the Shanghai postgraduate textbook, and the deputy editor-in-chief of the designated diagnosis and treatment guidelines and technical operation specifications of China Stomatology and Ministry of Health. In the process of compiling, I absorbed the advantages of foreign advanced textbooks, combined with the actual situation in China and my decades of research results, and strengthened the connection between theory and practice. The first China children's stomatology textbook edited by her filled the blank of China stomatology textbook and won the provincial and ministerial excellent textbook award.

The two projects led by Shi Sizhen have been recognized as national continuing education projects, and more than 100 doctors from all over the country have come to study and further study.
