Mr. Ye Jiaying's works are elegant, popular and easy to understand, which can often lead readers into the country of art appreciation. Many people fall in love with classical literature just because they read Yip Lao's words. Many people didn't believe the myth of "beauty never dies" until they witnessed the graceful demeanor of Ye Lao on the podium. However, after I finished reading Five Lectures on Lotus, I realized that she had a bumpy past with her profound knowledge and elegant manners. I think that the vicissitudes and persistence of the past 90 years have given her strength through classical poetry. She has an indissoluble bond with Lotus, and it is precisely because of her spirituality that she can wander freely in the ocean of classical poetry, and the Buddhist nature in China's traditional culture enables her to understand life after cultivating her mind and nature. With the help of rhetoric and Buddhist enlightenment, Mr. Ye spent her whole life's troubles, gained spiritual healing, and wrote her own real and beautiful life.
This book * * * contains five speeches by Mr. Ye about lotus flowers, showing Mr. Ye's extraordinary life. From this, we can feel Mr. Yip's rich inner world: lotus, poetry, Buddhism and enlightenment, which need us to understand slowly.
Flowers and words
People are not vegetation, who can be ruthless? However, in Mr. Ye Jiaying's mind, although flowers and trees are things, they also have feelings. Every flower and tree has a world. Her understanding and love of ancient poetry comes from Ailien's theory. Mr. Ye seems to be accompanied by lotus flowers from time to time in his life. Lotus inspired Ye Jiaying's childhood, and made her have an indissoluble bond with classical poetry since childhood. As a treasure of traditional culture in China, ancient poetry contains the character, wisdom and accomplishment of many literati and poets in ancient China. Those chapters handed down from generation to generation all contain the poet's beautiful soul and vision. There is an old saying: "Poetry expresses ambition, poetry expresses emotion." My impression of classical poetry is roughly the same. Poetry and songs are mostly used to express feelings. I am ashamed that I lack that sincere and deep love for classical literature.
Mr. Jialing was born in 1924. She has always used her life to comprehend classical poetry. Her mission in life is to inherit China's classical culture and explain to people the life-giving and endless power permeated in classical poetry. Regardless of theoretical research or poetry creation, as far as teaching and educating people is concerned, Mr. Ye has trained countless talents for the motherland. Today, at the age of 90, she still sticks to the podium and contributes to the spread of China's classical culture. Ye Jiaying loved poetry all his life and was willing to be a ferryman of classical poetry. She once said frankly, "The reason why she is still teaching at such an old age is that there are so many treasures in China that young people can't get in now, such as going back to Baoshan empty-handed. This is the sorrow of young people. "
The book "Five Lectures on Lotus" takes the lotus as the main line. Through five speeches around the lotus, it describes the author's life experience with China's classical poems and his incredible relationship with Buddhism. Although there is only a thin little book, the text is beautiful and poetic. When I closed the book, Mr. Ye Lao's sincere "poetic heart" touched me most: learning poetry, discussing poetry and teaching poetry. Yaxian once described Ye Jiaying like this: a person who is warm in meaning but cold in spirit is like an empty valley. The formation of such a beautiful temperament is closely related to Mr. Ye Lao's education since childhood. When I was a child, Ye Jiaying grew up in a quadrangle in old Beijing, but the secluded quadrangle was a quiet and self-sufficient small world for her. When she was a child, she was accompanied by bamboo and chrysanthemum day and night, and gradually developed an introverted and quiet character. Coupled with the good family atmosphere of scholarly family, she can sink down and feel the beauty of classical poetry. After being admitted to Fu Jen Catholic University, she cherished Chinese education more. Even if she finally settled down after being displaced, she still has great enthusiasm for poetry. This 90-year-old man, who has passed the turn of the century, has devoted his life to the creation and research of classical poetry, and is a famous researcher of "evaluation" of classical poetry at home and abroad. I read five books on Lotus, and I was impressed by Mr. Ye Lao's rigorous scholarship and exquisite exposition. I also read a book about Tang poetry. I found that Mr. Ye Lao's unique skills in evaluating and analyzing Tang poetry can be used in daily poetry and ancient Chinese teaching. For example, introduce the story behind ancient prose, read the text deeply, trace the origin of Chinese characters, understand ancient poems and sentences, and make good use of comparison to taste the charm of poetry.
There is such a sentence in the majestic poem: "It is nothing more than poetry to let the poor and humble people live a comfortable and secluded life." Won the favor of Ye Lao, and Mr. Ye's love for classical poetry has already melted into his blood. It is these ancient poems that support, moisten, nourish and achieve her. Poetry has brought her infinite happiness, and at the same time, Mr. Ye has repaid it with his lifelong affection. She has taught in Taiwan Province Provincial University, Fu Jen Catholic University and Nankai University. For more than 60 years. Mr. Ye Lao, who has experienced war, turmoil and displacement, once said, "I have never made my own choice in my life", but teaching and educating people is her obsession in this life. "What is the plan of the scholar to serve the country? I will never forget this poem. " No matter how hard and tired you are, once you stand on the podium, you will shine. As a teacher, Mr. Ye Lao's love and diligence in education really put me to shame. "She can explain it clearly in a class in a pearl-like language, so that students can exude the ubiquitous beauty of literature and art with Professor Ye in a very aesthetic language realm." Mr. Guan, I found that I lacked a feeling of "excitement" in the teaching of ancient poetry. If students can't really love classical poetry from the heart, how can they like it? In the past year's teaching, I paid too much attention to the rational analysis of the text and the ancient and modern translation of words, while ignoring the important point of perceptual experience. In the after-class teaching reflection, I also deeply feel that it is difficult for students to find emotional voices from ancient classical Chinese and poetry chapters, precisely because there are too many gaps between the authors of ancient poetry and the modern self, and this is exactly where I need to work hard.
? Buddha and Enlightenment
Looking back at those women who stayed abroad, walked through the Republic of China and crossed new China, most of them had extraordinary bearing and insight. Living in the 2 1 century, we love them, respect them and worship them, mostly because of their wisdom and knowledge. But among these many famous ladies and talented women, Mr. Ye is even greater. Compared with some weather-beaten women we usually see, her life experience is much more bumpy. Unlike Zhang Yun and Jiang Yang, their family background and marriage are perfect, and her love life has nothing to do with the beauty and sweetness of her poems. 1948 married, and soon went to Taiwan Province province with her husband, and lived in exile from then on. 1949, her husband was arrested and Ye Jiaying was also detained. Soon after, she was released, took her children to a relative's house and began to live in a sponsor's house. Three years later, her husband was released from prison, but his temperament changed greatly. He is grumpy, unemployed and angry, and the burden of life is all on her.
Today, as readers, we look at Mr. Ye's era, and it is hard to imagine her hardship and helplessness at that time. Mr. Ye is a man who has to work hard to support his family. That kind of suffering can only be borne by himself: the pain of displacement, the difficulty of livelihood, the pain of illness, and the pressure of emotion. At this time, her life is dark and gloomy, and her deep sadness is hard to dissipate. Loneliness, despair and helplessness made her want to end her life at any time. In those difficult days, it was teacher Ye's favorite ancient poems that diluted the pain and gave her spiritual comfort. Suffering not only didn't crush her, but also made her life glow with different brilliance. The reason is precisely because Mr. Ye realized the Buddhism and Zen in China's traditional culture from his poems, and integrated them into his own life, thus bringing harmony and peace of mind and body. This is my deepest feeling after reading this book.
In five lectures on lotus, Mr. Ye talked about lotus and poetry, and even talked about his life of becoming attached to Buddhism. According to Buddhist legend, there is a lotus flower in every pore of a Buddha, and each lotus flower also represents a Buddha's body. There is an invisible relationship between lotus and Buddha. 1943 After listening to a Buddhist lecture by a Zen master, she wrote, "When will a dusty dream wake up?" . It was late and the dew was condensed. Qiulian shakes the fruit. Things in the world are embarrassing, and the wind outside the eaves shakes the tower and the clock. "Because of Hà Thu's scattered thinking about the value of life, Ye Jiaying became attached to Buddhism. Ye Jiaying's life is like that of a lotus. It is the memory of youth and the enlightenment and epiphany of Buddhism. Lotus blooms, blooms and falls on her.
One day in June 2003, I visited my old classmates at Nankai University in Tianjin. I was lucky enough to hear Mr. Ye Jiaying's speech, and vaguely remember that the title of the speech was "My karma with Lotus and Buddhism". I originally thought that a person who had a relationship with Buddhism since childhood would become Amitabha in the future, who would see through the world of mortals, eliminate disasters in his career and lose all hope; Past lives have bad consequences, and people have evil intentions. Once they realize it, they will talk about waiting for the afterlife, looking forward to the afterlife, spiritual home, and cultivating happiness and wisdom ... But what makes me very different is that Teacher Ye is talking about her tragic life experience, and her life is tenacious. In her youth, her biological mother died on the train, her husband was arrested and imprisoned, and her daughter-in-law died in a car accident after middle age. This pile of bad news, one after another, all fell on this seemingly weak woman, and the pain on her shoulders was extremely heavy. How did she deal with natural and man-made disasters? Quote Mr. Ye's original words: "Maybe there are some beautiful places in my poems or papers. But how sad and difficult is it for me to weave my saliva column? Jiao Ren in the sea is torn into beads and woven into beautiful silk, which is the softest and most beautiful silk in the world. "
The 90-year-old man stood all night, and his interest was very high, which was admirable. That night, the auditorium in Nankai was packed and crowded, and even the corridors were filled with folding chairs. Looking back now, it is hard to forget the faces of those excited and interested audiences at that time. Others listened happily and sobbed in the auditorium, and my heart was choppy. I can't hear the sadness from Teacher Ye's melodious and erratic Beijing accent. She turned the lingering sadness into Zilan, Fang Fei, Heavy Rain, Windy, Who's Green in Vitamins, Who's Charming Flowers, Tathagata is Illusion, How to Spend One's Life, and A Beautiful Bird's Name is Jialing. Facing the hardships of life, Mr. Ye found the enlightenment of Buddhism from his poems. She not only released herself, but also enriched our emotional world. I feel the power of clarity in my heart. As long as my heart is pure, we will not be moved by external things. What impressed me the most was a poem by Mr. Ye, "Treading on the Sand": "My life was hard, and quiet inside was in a deep cup. ..... once you want to fly away, the wind blows wildly. " Although I can't learn this kind of mood, I really yearn for it.
Although the water is light, it is clear and patient, which is a realm of life. Mr. Ye is like water. From her, I felt the beauty of poetry and saw the enlightenment of Buddha brought by rhetoric. Like water, she conveys a weak but determined force. I closed the book and solemnly whispered to the centenarian: Thank you.
