Thesis on neologisms and neologisms
The first chapter summarizes the history and present situation of neologisms in China, and analyzes many problems existing in the research perspective of neologisms since the 1930s, which has obvious limitations. With the rapid development of cognitive linguistics, it provides a new perspective for the study of new terms.

Chapter two: Category theory and prototype theory are the most important parts of cognitive linguistics, and they are also the cognitive basis of new words. Category and prototype lay the foundation for the emergence and development of new words, and provide theoretical guidance and breakthrough ideas for the research and arrangement of new words.

Chapter three, metaphor and metonymy are a basic cognitive model of human beings, and people's understanding of things, the formation of concepts of things and the development of language have played an important role. When people use existing words to name new things and phenomena, the scope of meaning is also expanding, and this expansion is not arbitrary, but based on people's cognitive model of metaphor or metonymy.

Chapter four, analogy and comprehensive thinking, as important cognitive mechanisms of human beings, have strong explanatory power to the process of constructing the meaning of new words and many language phenomena. Analogy and synthesis reflect the flexibility and creativity of human thinking, can generate new words and expressions, and provide a broad field of vision for our research and development.

Chapter five, in the process of using cognitive linguistics to study new words, there are many outstanding problems worthy of further study and solution, such as the influence of different cognitive styles on the creativity of new words, the influence of cognitive context on the understanding of new words and how to further strengthen the standardization of new words by using cognitive principles.

This paper attempts to reveal the cognitive law of the emergence and development of new words comprehensively and systematically, and tries to analyze and study the mechanism of the emergence and development of new words from a fresh perspective in order to provide some reference for the study of new words.
