2. At the beginning of the defense, the chairman of the defense committee or the leader of the defense team shall read out the defense discipline; The host announces the name and topic of the respondent, and checks the student ID card of the respondent.

3. Instruct the teacher to introduce the respondent's political thought, learning attitude, scientific research ability, course examination results and thesis writing.

4. Respondents should make a self-report about 15 minutes, which should be concise and focused.

The main defense teacher will ask the respondent 3-5 questions prepared in advance. Respondents must pay attention, listen carefully to the teacher's questions and make a short transcript. If you don't hear the question clearly, you can ask to say it again.

6. After the main defense teacher finished asking questions, the respondent withdrew from the defense seat. There is about 15 minutes of preparation time.

7. It's time to get ready. After hearing the roll call of the chairman of the defense Committee or the head of the defense team, the respondent will return to the defense booth to start his defense.

8. The chairman of the defense committee or the head of the defense team announced that the defense meeting would be adjourned after each respondent finished his defense. The defense committee or defense team will meet, read out the tutor's comments on the paper, and then discuss the defense situation.

The defense committee or defense team shall, through the evaluation of the paper, vote on whether the paper is passed by secret ballot and make a resolution. The resolution can only take effect after it is approved by two-thirds of the members of the National Defense Commission.
