Many people mistakenly believe that only Buddhism advocates vegetarianism, many people mistakenly believe that Buddhism is the only religion that advocates vegetarianism, and many people mistakenly believe that vegetarianism is the superstition of old women. For many people, it is foolish for old ladies to pray for God to bless their children and grandchildren. Speaking of vegetarianism, I think it is detrimental to masculinity, dignity and social status! If the guests only prepare vegetarian dishes instead of big fish, big meat and delicacies, it is undoubtedly too ostentatious, and the guests also think that the host is a stingy miser. What is a banquet without wine and food? Of course, among the rich, vegetarianism is better than drunkenness. The road is frozen! Even small families with poor families think that eating meat is the enjoyment of "a big tooth sacrifice". No matter how poor you are, you have to have a bottle of old wine and a plate of braised beef, which is enough!
All kinds of secular fallacies have been passed down from generation to generation, and ordinary people know nothing about nutrition and health preservation. They often misunderstand that only meat chickens and ducks are the best nutrition, and vegetables and vegetables are not nutritious enough. Many people are superstitious that chicken soup is the best tonic, beef juice is the best tonic, pig brain is the best tonic, beef liver is the best tonic, pig lung is the best tonic, pig heart and chicken heart are the best tonic, beef bone and pig bone soup are the best tonic, cow blood, pig blood and chicken blood are the best tonic, cock pills taken out during castration are the most aphrodisiac, while seal whip, tiger whip and deer whip are more aphrodisiac, and velvet antler nourishes yin and yang. Then, wouldn't it be more aphrodisiac to take smelly leather shoes and cook them with glue? )
It is almost impossible to list the tonic superstitions of these meat eaters one by one! Just ask, and you can write down at least hundreds of such wrong tonic superstitions! Most of them have no nutritional basis at all and have not been scientifically analyzed and studied. Don't talk about nutrition, just take common sense! If eating pig brain is brain tonic, then, if you eat it regularly, won't it turn people into pig brain? Parents are afraid that their children will study too hard, so they stew pig brains for their children. Have you ever thought about making their children stupid like a little fat pig? If this continues, a man who eats soft-shelled turtle or soft-shelled turtle for aphrodisiac will definitely look like a turtle! People who eat seal balls and tiger penis in order to greatly increase male sexual ability should be careful that the children born are seal-shaped! Eat rooster pills, but be careful, it may crow at dawn tomorrow morning!
(2) Food and body odor
These are naturally jokes. How can these be? It's impossible, and it can be disproved that eating beef liver may not necessarily replenish the liver? It is true that people who eat beef and mutton sweat, beef and mutton stink, people who eat fish and shrimp stink of aquatic animals, people who eat fried chicken legs stink of chicken, and people who eat roast duck stink of duck. Anyone who eats meat into the shed can immediately point out that he has eaten fried chicken, roast duck or lobster. You don't need to see them with your eyes, and you don't need to reason. You can smell their sweat and undigested meat in their stomachs. This is not an exaggeration. In fact, the fat and meat of these animals give off an unpleasant smell. Coupled with onions, garlic and spices, it will evaporate faster and evaporate from the sweat glands below the human body. Foreigners love onion steak, and the fishy smell under their armpits is disgusting. No matter what body odor perfume you use, you can't get rid of it!
On the other hand, many vegetarians give off the fragrance of plants or fruits or flowers, just like the old monk Guang Qin who lost his fruits. When he was alive, he often gave off the fragrance of fruit, which many people could feel. Xu Yun, an old monk in the past, vaguely exudes the fragrance of lotus leaves or bamboo leaves wherever he goes. Because his old man often eats lotus leaf rice and drinks bamboo leaf green tea, many close people remember his fragrance. Even ordinary people like me are often found to have the smell of orange blossom because they eat vegetarian dishes, especially oranges. This is not a myth, but plants, fruits and vegetables contain all kinds of aromatic volatile oils, which are absorbed by the human body and emitted into the air with the evaporation of water in the human body. Although there are traces, they can still be detected.
Smelling it or not is a trivial matter, and it is not worth paying attention to. But what you eat is good or bad for people's health, which is no small matter!
(3) Carcinogens in meat
When animals are slaughtered, cells will secrete hormones strongly and urgently, which is very harmful to human health. Some western medical scientists have found in experiments that cancer will occur when the chemical components of such hormones are injected into mice. Therefore, it is inferred that slaughtered animal meat may also cause human cancer, at least, it will also cause endocrine disorders and confusion. If you eat a lot of meat, it's easy to get endocrine disorders. No wonder people who eat meat tend to age faster than vegetarians!
Perhaps this has not been unanimously recognized by the medical community, so the burnt part of barbecue meat contains carcinogens, which is a fact recognized by most western medical circles. Experiments have proved that the fat of roasted meat such as roast beef and protein are directly roasted at high temperature to form PAH toxin. Attached is the original text for your reference. The more you burn, the more carcinogens are formed, and the more carcinogens are formed by the meat roasted with coal.
It is specialized knowledge to discuss carcinogens in detail, including organic chemistry, pathology, clinical medicine, oncology and so on. The layman can't elaborate as much as I can. Even if those chemical equations and medical Latin terms are copied down, I'm afraid everyone may not understand them. Therefore, this article will be omitted. Readers with these knowledge qualities may wish to publish professional papers as a more detailed and thorough addiction.
Carcinogenic substances in barbecue, or very few, but, over time, many a mickle makes a mickle, and finally stimulate the abnormal development of cells in the human body into cancer cells, spread to the whole body, and take away life! This is obvious to all. People die of intestinal cancer and gastric cancer every day. Almost every day, cancer patients or their families write letters or call me for help from all over the world. Most of them are meat eaters. They have always been superstitious about eating meat, disobeying precepts and being vegetarian. When their lives were dying and the doctor declared that there was no hope, they hurried to the hospital. They usually don't believe in Buddhism, and they don't believe in cause and effect. At this time, they thought that I had some great magical power of Buddhism and came back to life, begging me. I don't know that I'm just an ordinary person. I don't have the great ability to bring back the dead, and I don't have the secret recipe to eliminate cancer. I hope I can save all the cancer patients, but if I can't, how can I save their lives? I only know discipline and persistence. Obedience and vegetarianism are the best ways to prevent diseases. If you want to prevent cancer, you must not eat any meat! You must be a vegetarian! If you are not a vegetarian, if you try your best to eat meat, you will continue to absorb carcinogens, which is a long-term chronic suicide. Once the cancer breaks out, it will be too late! Who can save it? Buddha and bodhisattva can't save it! Why? Because eating meat is a continuation of killing evil karma, planting evil causes and leading to cancer! Buddha said, "Cause and effect cannot be broken!" Indeed, no matter how big the avatar is, it can't break the basic law of the universe-the law of causality! Some people say that eating meat is easy to get cancer, not cause and effect. Then, analyze it and eat carcinogens into the body. Isn't that one reason? Isn't getting cancer the result of this world? People kill animals, eat their carcasses, and the carcasses leave toxins to meat eaters, and finally bring people to cancer and die of pain. Isn't this what the world deserves? Isn't this the revenge of animals that have been brutally killed and swallowed on human beings? Animals are rich in fat and cholesterol. Isn't it fatal to cause heart disease, high blood pressure and stroke?
Although animals have been slaughtered and cooked, every cell of them still has residual knowledge, but it can't be concentrated. But one thing is that they died with resentment, and the anger of grievances will not be eliminated. When they are struggling, there will be hatred and revenge in their minds, which will remain in every cell of their bodies. They know that there is no hope of survival and they can't resist. Only revenge in the mind will drive urea, toxins, hormones, viruses and so on. In their meat cells. This is the karma for killing and eating meat in this world! Unfortunately, few people know a truth, that is, to be slaughtered like an animal and die! The Buddhist scripture says, "Today you eat it, tomorrow it will eat you!" " "In addition to the afterlife, it also refers to this life. Most people only think that these two sentences only refer to the afterlife, but they are not. According to the report of this world, the toxin of animal corpse cells will poison and devour human cells. Isn't this "you eat it today and it will eat you tomorrow"? Think about it, when people who have been wronged and killed die in despair, they often gnash their teeth and say, "I want to be a spectre and avenge my death!" " "This is not only a human reaction!
(4) Eat meat to collect debts to solve doubts
It is also said that animals are born to be slaughtered in order to pay debts to people in their previous lives. People who eat their meat accept their debts! Animals should be slaughtered and eaten for their sins in their previous lives. People eat them to eliminate karma for them!
This statement is half right, not half right! You're half right. You did evil things in your previous life. You have to bear the consequences of your evil things, so that you can be an animal and get what you deserve! The wrong half is that people eat animals to accept debts and eliminate karma for them!
If you eat it, you can eliminate karma for it. Then, if people simply kill others and eat them, won't they also quit their jobs for them? Why do you do good deeds?
Some people say that animals are born to feed people to repay their bad karma, so people eat meat to collect debts. This statement is also questionable! Let's imagine that after a pig is slaughtered, its carcass is put on a meat stall for sale. I'm afraid at least hundreds of customers will share its meat, take it back to cook and share it with their families. There are also restaurants that sell pork to many diners. So many people, suppose there are an estimated 500 people sharing the carcass of a fat pig! How can you imagine that this pig owed debts to 500 people from all walks of life at the same time or successively in his last life? In my opinion, the fat pig did evil things in his last life or previous life and lost his mind, which led him to reincarnate into the animal track and possess the pig fetus. Its evil cause has made him suffer from peeling and eating for thousands of times, but it is not necessarily destined to be eaten by 500 people in the quilt, or by another 1000 people, or the bones are eaten by pigs, dogs, insects and ants. However, this is a kind of retribution. These meat eaters eat meat only because they are greedy, and the new fatal disaster may not be the right to collect debts! They don't have to eat meat or plant new evil causes. Who takes it for granted that creditors eat meat? That's self-deception. If they regard this as "doing justice for heaven" and eat meat to punish animals, it will be even more incredible! Eating meat means that you have the idea of killing, and you have committed the crime of killing. No matter how sophistry, it can't be shirked. Obviously, this is just an argument to prove that eating meat is reasonable!
Cause and effect are complicated and subtle, so it is difficult to get a glimpse. In other words, that fat pig owes 500 or 1000 people bad karma in this life, so that they have to eat its meat, which is unknown! But those 500 or 1000 people are still free and independent! But there are no knives and axes around their necks, forcing them to eat inside! If they are really creditors with the right to collect debts, can't they turn their anger into safety? Can't they abstain from meat, so as not to grow bad karma again? Also, are they all creditors of pork, beef, chickens and ducks that they wanted to eat in the past and in the future? (ensure that you can see it right and not kill it wrong! I didn't eat wrong. Why don't you settle your grievances? Why do you have to eat these animals, hold a grudge, and then be killed and eaten by them in the future? Why not stop eating meat and end the evil causal cycle? The law of causal circulation in the universe cannot be explained by human logic, and no one can change it in the number one way. Only compassion can resolve violence, and only compassion can cut off the endless cycle of revenge!
(5) Jainism Christianity also advocates vegetarianism.
Or some people think that non-killing and vegetarianism are unique to Buddhism, and that this is a mother-in-law's business and a woman's benevolence. In fact, non-killing and vegetarianism are strongly advocated by Buddhism, but they are not unique to Buddhism.
Jainism is an older religion than Buddhism. Jainism has existed for a long time in the Buddha's time. It has long advocated compassion, forbidding killing and not eating any animals. Jainism has many teachings that are very similar to Buddhism, but not the same as Buddhism. This ancient Indian religion, although far less prosperous than ancient times, still exists in South India. Recently, the British BBC Telephone Company filmed a documentary video introducing this ancient religion, which let us have a quick look.
BBC introduces Jain temples in southern India. Many thousand-year-old temples are carved with stones. The buildings are magnificent and gorgeous, each one is the crystallization of super stone carving art ... Its multi-level pagodas are carved with many statues similar to Buddha statues on all sides, which are extremely solemn! The magnificent and solemn stone carving pattern on the top of the temple is really ingenious, which makes the art of algae wells in Huagong far behind. After seeing Jainism temples, I realized that there are such solemn and beautiful buildings in the world, and even the Buddhist temples in Thailand are just dwarfed.
I have not studied it, and I don't know whether the teachings of Jainism and Buddhism are of the same origin. However, from the introduction of the video-or just superficial-I can't help thinking that Buddhism may have been influenced by Jainism, or that Buddhism has influenced Jainism.
In the video, I saw Jain monks wearing snow-white Indian monk robes, some of which looked like what Gandhi used to wear. They also shaved their heads, but didn't perm their hair. They also hang wreaths, sit still and sing. Jain monks are very similar to Buddhist monks except wearing white clothes. They crossed their hands and entered the temple respectfully, paying homage to the Buddha statues and gods (many statues are so like Buddha statues that they are called Buddha statues). They don't eat after noon and strictly enforce the prohibition of killing. They eat vegetarian food and warn believers not to kill any animals or insects or eat meat. Jain believers are vegetarian all their lives. They are not involved in killing animals. They are not butchers, fishermen, hunters or even shoemakers. They are one of the richest people of all ethnic groups in India. They have the most advanced industries, the most magnificent temples and the most profitable industries and businesses. Their women are very conservative. When they go out, they have to wear a towel, and their clothes are not allowed to show their bodies (but they are barefoot). As soon as they saw the monks (all men, no women), they all knelt down and bowed down, fearing that they would not be able to hold on.
The BBC commentator is a British professor. He said: "Jainism pursues vegetarianism and does not kill life, which is far more severe than Buddhism. Jainism even forbids deforestation. "
In Jainism, there is also an ascetic monk who is naked. They queue up for alms every day, asking only for a bowl of rice, all vegetarian. The reason why they are naked is to give up any material property, not shameless. They are not allowed to own any money, property or industry. The only thing they can have is a sunflower fan and a vegetarian bowl. They must abstain from prostitution. There is absolutely no obscenity. Usually ascetic meditation in the mountains, never into the people's homes, let alone socialize with the people. After begging, they returned to the mountains. Although they are naked and look like barbarians, no one laughs at or disrespects them. Even female believers don't shy away from these ascetic monks and don't look at their bodies. Everyone knelt down and bowed. The piety and self-discipline of this religion are not found in any other religion.
Jainism is strictly observed for three reasons: (1) not killing, (2) purifying the soul, and (3) health care. This is what a Jain monk told BBC visitors.
In contrast, shouldn't some people in Buddhism be ashamed?
In addition to Jainism, there are Christianity and some sects that advocate vegetarianism. The most famous is the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, a Christian sect that is vegetarian and forbids killing and slaughtering. There is no in-depth study and little information. I can't jump to the conclusion that they are influenced by Buddhism. I guess it is not necessarily influenced by Buddhism, because compassion is the noblest virtue and ideal of human beings.
There is a Christian hospital in Chai Wan, Kowloon, Hong Kong, called Hong Kong An Hospital (I'm not sure which sect it is). It is stipulated that all patients and medical staff in the hospital are vegetarian and absolutely not allowed to eat meat! A patient in the hospital told me about it. She said that Hong Kong An Hospital stipulated that the staff in the hospital must be vegetarian on the grounds of caring for animals and health care. Doctors in this hospital believe that vegetarian diet is healthier than eating meat, which makes patients recover much faster.
This Gang 'an Hospital can be compared with the Christian Taiwan Province Sanatorium in Taipei (now called Tai 'an Hospital)! Taiwan Province sanatorium is famous for its vegetarian diet. There are also some hospitals in the United States and Canada that require Christians to be vegetarian. Many Christians and Catholics cite Bible verses and point out that they should be vegetarian. This article was written in a hurry and didn't refer to the Bible. However, since it was put forward by a knowledgeable person, it must be justified. We should have no doubt about this. )
Even Muslims living in desert areas often have fasting periods, but I am not sure about their fasting period and dare not talk nonsense.
(6) Vegetarian regimen is a new trend in the world.
Looking for a few examples of foreign teachers casually, we can find that not killing animals and being vegetarian is not an unreasonable behavior of Buddhism, but the lofty virtues and ideals of many compassionate people, regardless of their beliefs, are also health care measures that * * * * knows. Why? Why do people still eat meat? Why? Why not insist that vegetarianism is superstition? Why is vegetarian food not nutritious enough? Can ordinary people's nutrition knowledge compare with that of doctors and nutritionists? Vegetarian health is a new trend in the world. How many medical scientists, athletes and health care workers are vegetarians? Are their nutrition knowledge inferior to that of ordinary people? Are they all idiots?
Refuse to be a vegetarian, and accuse vegetarianism of being superstitious or undernourished. That's the real fool! Study the nutrition of vegetarian food more! If you don't want to be kind to all beings and animals, don't you want to be kind to your own health? If you don't believe in the afterlife, what goes around comes around. Don't you believe in worldly eating meat? Cancer, hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, kidney disease, food poisoning, many of these contemporary diseases come from eating meat-many medical reports have been put forward! People who eat meat and people who believe in Buddhism don't have to stop eating meat. Why don't you read more books on medicine and nutrition? Why not learn more Buddhist scriptures? If you still insist that the afterlife is not credible, eat meat every day! You don't need to come into life, and you don't need to wait until ten or twenty years later. In just a few years, the results of eating meat will appear. If you still don't care and still want to eat meat like "eating puffer fish to death", please make your own mistakes and don't preach the beneficial benefits of eating meat, which will miss the health and good deeds of others!
