Therefore, realism and romanticism are integrated in both works.

Reflect different social backgrounds. The story of Luo takes place in Verona on the eve of the European Renaissance. At that time, the emerging bourgeoisie had risen, but the feudal forces still clung to the dominant position. Romeo and Juliet's pursuit of personal freedom and the conflict between love and feudal family reflect the contradiction between bourgeoisie and feudal forces. The story of Confucius took place in Lujiang at the end of Han Dynasty. At that time, the feudal society in China was mature, and the feudal system occupied an absolute dominant position. Jiao and Liu's love tragedy reflected the strength of feudal forces and the universality of their misfortunes, and reflected the sufferings of millions of oppressed women in society at that time.
