The publication of SCI requires that the first author be a doctor or an associate professor or above. SSCI is a companion piece of social science citation index SCI, which was also founded by institute for scientific information. It is a large-scale retrieval tool, which can be used to analyze the number of social science papers in different countries and regions. 1999 SSCI contains 1809 kinds of the most important social science journals in the world, covering 55 fields such as anthropology, law, economics, history, geography and psychology. The types of documents collected include: research papers, book reviews, special discussions, editorials, autobiographies, letters, etc. It selectively covers 1300 journals.
Social Science Citation Index (SSCI) includes 2684 social science journals (as of June 9, 2009), and also includes papers related to social science research in journals included in SCIE.
SSCI has extremely high requirements for articles. Without new narrative viewpoints, argumentation achievements and excellent author background, it is basically difficult to issue project funds.
Master students and doctoral students can bring their own tutors as the first authors.
