Architectural design of Capital Museum
The new Capital Museum covers an area of 24,800 square meters with a total construction area of 63,390 square meters. It has two floors underground and five floors above ground. Design a green cultural square in the north and a sunken bamboo garden in the east. The building (above ground) is152m long from east to west, 66m wide from north to south and 4 1 m high. The shape of the building is mainly composed of three parts: rectangular enclosure structure, oval facade and metal roof. The interior of the building is divided into three independent buildings, namely: rectangular exhibition hall, oval theme exhibition hall and strip office scientific research building. The space between them is the central hall and the indoor bamboo garden. The use of natural light, quaint Chinese archway, sinking bamboo courtyard and flowing water create an environment with both humanistic and natural sentiment for the audience.

The building of the Capital Museum itself is an architectural work of art integrating classical beauty and modern beauty, which has both strong national characteristics and a distinct sense of modernity. The huge roof inherits the far-reaching overhangs of traditional buildings in China; The long stone curtain wall symbolizes the ancient city wall of China; The slope of the square inherits the architectural style of the ancient high platform; On the ground outside the north gate of the hall, there is an Amin archway embedded, which embodies the characteristics of the central axis of China traditional architecture. The oval bronze exhibition hall leans out of the wall, which means that ancient cultural relics have broken ground. The extensive use of bronze, wood and masonry shows a long history. The stone used in the North Square and the lobby is produced in Fangshan area, and has been supplying stone for the construction of Beijing since ancient times. The exterior decoration of the square exhibition hall adopts the most common elm in Beijing; The exterior decoration of the oval exhibition hall is made of bronze, and is decorated with the Western Zhou bronzes unearthed in Beijing. Steel roof, glass curtain wall, etc. Showing Beijing's strong pace of the times, large space and transparent visual effects are in line with the international fashion trend of contemporary architecture. The design scheme of the Capital Museum was selected from 22 design schemes submitted by famous Chinese and foreign architectural design institutions in 16 after two rounds of international bidding. After the museum building was completed, it was well received by people from all walks of life at home and abroad. The new building covers an area of 24,800 square meters, with a total construction area of 63,390 square meters and a building height of 40 meters, with five floors above ground and two floors underground. Architecture itself is a masterpiece of architectural art, which combines classical beauty with modern beauty. It not only has strong national characteristics, but also presents a distinct sense of modernity. For example, the outward inclined bronze body broke through the wall, the cantilevered roof inherited the traditional eaves of China, and the blue-gray brick wall blurred the boundary between the ancient city wall and the modern curtain wall. The spacious square and lobby are also based on the high-rise buildings of the palace. On the central axis of the museum, the ground outside the hall is inlaid with single strokes of the Qing Dynasty, and there is a memorial arch of the Ming Dynasty in the hall, which embodies the characteristics of the traditional central axis of China. In terms of building materials, the extensive use of bronze, wood and masonry shows a long history; The steel roof and glass curtain wall also show Beijing's strong pace of the times, and the tall space and transparent visual effects are more in line with the international fashion trend of contemporary architecture.

Buddha Exhibition Hall The Buddha Exhibition Hall displays 262 Buddha statues, which are divided into Han Buddhism and Tibetan Buddhism. After seeing this exhibition hall, various artistic shapes let the audience know about the development and evolution of the Buddha art in the Sino-Tibetan area of China. In the exhibition hall, a statue of "Piwaba, a bronze gilded statue" is a statue of the Ming Dynasty court, with a height of 18.5 cm. Such a big Buddha statue is very rare. The Buddha statue is vivid, with round eyes and bright face. The right leg is sideways, the left leg is propped up, the left hand is lifted, and the index finger is extended as the upward finger. This style shows that Piwaba bet with the wine girl and set the posture of the sun.

Jadeware exhibition hall

Exhibit cultural relics 18 1 in the jade exhibition hall to show visitors the basic context of jade development. A large number of poems and jade articles engraved with the emperor's year number were unearthed in the tombs of princes and nobles. Some small pieces of jade are equipped with magnifying glasses in front, so that the audience can better feel the superb craftsmanship of ancient jade carvings in China. In the exhibition hall, the most concerned thing is Ganlong Yuxi. It is understood that this jade seal was purchased by the Capital Museum in 2004 from Christie's Spring Auction in Hong Kong for more than 2.5 million Hong Kong dollars. This square seal, carved with white jade, was carved by Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty shortly before he gave the Zen position to Emperor Jiaqing and assumed the position of emperor. Judging from the seal of "Bagua Palm Treasure", it is one of the seals for the management of Ganlong's eightieth birthday (179 1), which belongs to Ganlong's private seal. Emperor Qianlong has used it in many famous paintings and calligraphy, so it can also be used as one of the basis for identifying the authenticity of paintings and calligraphy.

Porcelain exhibition hall

Porcelain 170 parts unearthed and handed down during the historical period when Beijing was the capital were exhibited in the Porcelain Exhibition Hall. In 2000, the blue-and-white glazed red sea dragon spherical bottle was worth100000 yuan. In addition, the white glazed boy chanting pot in Ding Yao during the Song, Liao and Jin Dynasties, the blue-and-white flat pot with phoenix head unearthed in the Yuan Dynasty, and the pastel lotus-patterned wooden pot in the turquoise green area of Gan Long are all rare treasures. There is also a grape grain Cup in the exhibition hall. This pair of grape grain Cup and Jigang Cup are contemporary works, both of which are representative works of official kilns in Ming Dynasty. There is only one Jigang cup and a pair of grape cups. These cups were unearthed in the tomb of Sony's 7-year-old granddaughter, an important official in the early Qing Dynasty.

Study room exhibition hall

The study exhibition hall * * * exhibited 49 pieces of cultural relics/kloc-0, including Qianlong Imperial Ink, Yuchunhuaxuan Carved Paper, Four Famous Inks, Bamboo Carved Zhang Shanshui Pavilion Penholder in Ming Dynasty and other precious cultural relics. Walking into this exhibition hall is like walking into the study of Ming and Qing literati. Because most of the exhibits here are exquisite and fragile cultural relics such as pens, ink, paper and inkstones, in order to ensure the safety of cultural relics, several humidifiers have been specially added in the showcase and exhibition hall.

The main highlights of the series

The Qianlong Imperial Monument is divided into three parts, namely, the monument body, the monument cap and the monument seat, and each part has two caps and five seats. The monument is 6.7 meters high and weighs more than 40 tons. It is made of white marble and stone and is well preserved. The tablet is full of rare handwritten books "Imperial Capital" and "Imperial Capital" written in Manchu and Chinese. These two poems vividly and concretely express Emperor Qianlong's thoughts of governing the country, that is, "morality is not in danger" and "prepare for danger in times of peace".

These two articles are also the greatest cultural value of this giant stone tablet, and they are important physical documents for studying and displaying Beijing's history and culture. The stele seat is a waist-girding sumeru seat, engraved with grass-rolling patterns, which is exquisite and unusual.

Around 1935, the monument stands in the "Doum Palace" in the northwest of Tianqiao Road in Beijing. From 19 15 to1919; Yucai School was still located in the northeast corner of Neitan when 1949 entered Xiannongtan. During the Great Leap Forward from 65438 to 0958, the monument was artificially pushed down and scattered on the surface. Later, due to various projects during the Cultural Revolution, various parts of the monument were buried underground. According to these clues, in 2003, the search for historic sites began. The staff first used the detector to carry out on-site inspection, and the result was disappointing. Later, according to the memory of an old man, the location of the imperial tomb was initially determined. Before the Spring Festival in 2004, a corner of the monument was found in the inner altar of Xiannongtan, underground of an office in the courtyard of Beijing convenience food factory, and then the monument cap and base were found.

The Qianlong Imperial Monument is well preserved, but because of its age, there are some cracks in the monument body, but there is no through crack. In order to ensure that the monument is not damaged, the monument has been repaired before it is erected. Larger cracks are reinforced with steel bars and treated with glue. In order to prevent wind, rain and sunshine from attacking the stone tablet, the whole stone tablet will be sealed with special glass in the future, and ventilation holes will be left on the glass cover to facilitate air circulation. According to reports, the selected glass is not only strong, but also anti-ultraviolet.

Walking into the Capital Museum, located at Fuxingmenwai Street 16, Xicheng District, Beijing, a heavy sense of history and the atmosphere of the times came to my face. The huge roof, the long stone curtain wall, the archway of the Ming Dynasty, and the single brushwork of the Qing Dynasty ... are modern but unobtrusive, traditional but not dull, which is the first impression of everyone who approaches this building. As the custodian of the old Beijing memory and the practitioner of the new Beijing spirit, the Capital Museum has become the habitat of the city's spiritual culture.

Welcome to the website of the Capital Museum is a speech written by Guo Xiaoling, director of the Capital Museum, in official website. In his view, the Capital Museum "focuses on Beijing's 500,000-year human settlement history, 3,000-year urban history, 800-year Kyoto history and its incomparably rich cultural heritage, and is also an important place for cultural exchanges between New Beijing and the world." From a border town to the capital with a population of1300 million, the Capital Museum has become a memory hall of Beijing's history and culture.
