The principle of good faith should be regarded as the "king" of civil law, which has become a common view in China civil law circles. However, no matter from the origin or development, the principle of good faith is closely related to human activities. In addition, compared with civil law, commercial law has a wider range of commercial credit, so the economic basis, historical development and academic research trend of the principle of good faith show that it plays a more important role in the field of commercial law. There are obvious differences between the principle of good faith in commercial law and the principle of good faith in civil law in the scope of application, basis and content. From the perspective of comparative study, this paper holds that the principle of good faith is more suitable for commercial law. Combined with the trend that the principle of good faith is playing an increasingly important role in modern law, combined with the development of China's socialist market economy, this paper further puts forward the special importance of establishing a social environment dominated by good faith to supplement and improve China's legal system.
