Citation Index of Chinese Social Sciences is called "Citation Index of Chinese Social Sciences" in English, abbreviated as CSSCI. It is used to retrieve the essays and literature citations in the field of social sciences in China.

Citation Index of Chinese Social Sciences (CSSCI) is a key project of the State and the Ministry of Education, which was developed by China Social Sciences Research and Evaluation Center of Nanjing University.

CSSCI follows the law of bibliometrics, adopts the method of combining quantitative and qualitative evaluation, and selects journals with strong academic and standardized editing from more than 2,700 Chinese academic journals of humanities and social sciences as source journals.
