1, Zhang Taiyan's Introduction to Chinese Studies.

Zhonghua Book Company Edition "Learning Chinese Studies from Masters" Series

This is the first book I have read that comes into contact with Chinese studies. It's a very thin book, very inconspicuous. After opening it, I found that there was "dry Kun in my belly".

In the book Introduction to Chinese Studies, Mr. Zhang Taiyan first expounded his own understanding of the ontology of Chinese studies and his unique views on the research methods of Chinese studies. Then it systematically introduces the traditional schools of Confucian classics, philosophy and literature in China, and systematically combs the origin, development and differences of each school. Because this book is a transcript of Mr. Zhang's lecture on Chinese studies in Shanghai, the text is easy to understand, and readers can have a clear framework understanding of various schools of Chinese studies in vivid language. There are also many incisive papers on Chinese studies in the appendix, which are worth reading. For beginners, it is an excellent introductory book to understand Chinese studies.

2, Zhang Taiyan' Lecture Notes on Chinese Studies'.

Zhonghua Book Company Edition

This book is also a compilation of Mr. Zhang Taiyan's speeches, but it is different from An Introduction to Chinese Studies. The introduction focuses on the analysis of the factions of Chinese studies, while this book has a more comprehensive and detailed analysis of various departments of Chinese studies.

In the book, primary school, Confucian classics, history, philosophers and literature are expounded respectively. It not only sorts out the schools, but also expounds the representative figures, classic works and development sources of each school in detail. Mr. Zhang expressed his views on some controversial topics and put forward unique opinions. Reading this book is really enlightening and beneficial.

4, Qian Mu' Introduction to Chinese Studies'

Kyushu publishing house edition

Mr. Qian Mu is a master with his own ideological system and has his own unique views on China culture. This book is compiled and revised on the basis of the lecture notes of Introduction to China Studies.

As Mr. Wang himself said, the purpose of this book is to "make scholars know the general trend of academic changes in ancient and modern times." This paper mainly discusses the development of China's ancient scholarship (Confucian Classics), from Confucius and the Six Classics to the main academic thoughts in the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China, and expounds his own ideas between the lines. It is a good book for readers who want to know the academic changes in China for thousands of years and study Mr. Qian Mu's thoughts.

5, Hu' How to read ancient books'

Zhonghua Book Company Edition "Learning Chinese Studies from Masters" Series

How to Read Ancient Books is actually a book composed of two books, both of which are Mr. Hu's works, namely, The Ancient and Modern Reading Law and On China's Sages. The previous book introduced the significance of reading ancient books to readers, not only provided their own methods of reading ancient books, but also listed many reference books and documents, and proposed that reading ancient books should be "precise, knowledgeable and familiar". The latter book discusses his own combing and personal understanding of China's ancient sage theory. Although it does not represent the mainstream opinion, it can be prepared.

Personally, I only recommend the previous book. Now there is only a bound edition on the market. It seems that there is no separate edition, so I have to recommend this one to you. For the latter book, you can simply look at it and get to know it.

6, Liang Qichao' Reading Guide'

Zhonghua Book Company Edition "Learning Chinese Studies from Masters" Series

Liang Rengong's book is also a combination of two books. The former is an introduction to Chinese studies and their reading methods, which lists the important bibliographies of ancient books such as thought, political history, philology, verse, primary school and the general reading methods of various books; The latter is "Solving Problems by Quoting and How to Read", which gives a detailed explanation and guidance on the classic documents such as The Analects of Confucius, Mencius, Han Feizi, Xunzi, Historical Records, Zuo Zhuan and even The Book of Songs and Songs of the South, as well as how to deeply read these handed down classics. Moreover, the appendix at the end of the book has Liang Rengong's "On the Way of Chinese Studies", which can be described as a strategically placed work and gives inspiration to later scholars.

In a word, this book is similar to how to read ancient books, and it also has a unique reading method. By combining the two, we can realize the specific methods of reading ancient books.

7, Zhang Shunhui' China Philology'

Shanghai Century Publishing Group Edition

If you want to study a knowledge or understand a classic, you need to read it, and what you read, whether it is a classic or a research work, belongs to the category of literature. Zhang Shunhui's China Philology is a necessary teaching material in many schools, which shows its importance and professionalism. Mr. Wang's book not only explains what "philology" is and what the research purpose of philology is, but also expounds specific knowledge such as catalogue, edition and collation.

Because of its strong professionalism, this book may be more difficult for ordinary readers to learn. However, after learning this book, when reading the literature again, you will have subjective judgments, such as the authenticity and version of the literature, and even contribute to the selection and collection of ancient books.

8. Chai Degeng's Historical Records

Beijing publishing house "everyone's little book" series

Many friends are interested in history and often ask me how to choose history books and what kind of books to read. I also wrote an article listing the recommended bibliography of history, but some people said, are there any good ancient history books to recommend? I won't recommend this aspect, because the book Historical Records has been recommended in detail.

As a student of Mr. Chen Yuan, Mr. Chai Degeng's Summary of Historical Records lists the classic works of ancient history books in different categories, which are divided into biographical, chronological and chronological categories, just like a historical reference book. When readers don't know what books to read, they can open this book and choose to read according to their favorite categories.

We should keep our eyes open, choose good books to read, and don't be confused by some bestsellers who claim to be everyone.

But study hard and don't be eager for quick success!
