Brief introduction of University of Macau

The University of Macau is an international comprehensive university, located in the quiet and beautiful island city of Macau. The University of Macau is the only public university in the region. Formerly known as East Asia University, it was founded in 198 1. The University of East Asia is the first modern higher education institution in Macao. 1988 was acquired by the government and changed to a public university. 199 1 renamed the University of Macau.

Australian universities currently have five colleges and one research institute: School of Business Administration, School of Education, School of Law, School of Social Sciences and Humanities, School of Science and Technology and China Academy of Medical Sciences. Each academic unit offers about 100 degree courses, including doctoral, master's and bachelor's degrees. There are also three teaching centers: preparatory center, continuing education center and English center. "Paying equal attention to teaching and scientific research" is the development goal of the University of Macau. To this end, each college has one or more research centers. There are more than six thousand students studying. The University of Macau has nearly 400 international teachers, more than 60% of whom have doctoral degrees, and they all have rich teaching and professional experience. Teachers come from more than ten countries and regions such as the United States, Britain, Canada, Australia, France, Portugal, Singapore, Japan, New Zealand, China, Macau and Hong Kong. Many of them even received doctorates from world-renowned universities, including Stanford University, Harvard University and Paclet University in California, Oxford University and Cambridge University in Britain, University of Toronto, Peking University, Beijing Normal University and Hong Kong University. English is the main teaching language in Australian universities.

The University of Macau attaches great importance to international exchanges and cooperation. As the chairman of the Asia-Pacific University Alliance (AUAP) and the vice-chairman of the International Association of University Presidents (IAUP) and the Portuguese-speaking University Alliance (AULP), the University of Macau shoulders the responsibility of promoting the contacts and exchanges between the Asia-Pacific University Alliance and plays an important role in the international university network and the Portuguese-speaking University network. At the same time, he actively participated in the meetings of many international university organizations and associations, including the International Association for College Students' Technical Internship Exchange (IAESTE), the International Association of Universities (IAU), the Asia-Pacific University Exchange Network (UMAP), the Asia-Pacific Higher Education Research Network (APHERN), the Portuguese University Presidents Association (CRUP) and the Eurasian-Pacific University Network (UNINET). Through regular contacts with international academic circles, he has made great contributions to the development of universities. Therefore, the degrees and courses of the University of Macau are widely recognized at home and abroad.

In the past few years, the University of Macau has trained a large number of outstanding publicly funded graduate students through exchanges and cooperation with the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and some key universities in the Mainland, providing an ideal platform for the motherland to train top talents in various fields. In the 2 1 century, Australian universities not only continued their work in this field, but also expanded the scope to self-funded graduate students from 2002, which not only broadened the training level of national outstanding talents, but also promoted cultural and academic exchanges between the mainland and Macao.
