Published more than 30 scientific research papers. Won the first prize 1, the third prize 2, and the third prize of Shaanxi Province. At present, there are two projects under study. The main research results focus on the evolution of early life and the research direction of stratigraphic paleontology from late Precambrian to early Cambrian. Since 1982, Professor Li Yong has been engaged in teaching, scientific research and management in the former Xi 'an Institute of Geology (later renamed Xi 'an Institute of Engineering) and now the College of Earth Sciences and Land Resources of Chang 'an University. Professor Li Yong is mainly engaged in the study of paleontology and stratigraphy, especially the study of stratigraphic paleontology from late Precambrian to early Cambrian. It provides very important empirical data for exploring the development and evolution of early life on earth.

He has published more than 40 related academic papers in academic journals at home and abroad, including 4 papers published in Nature and Science magazines in cooperation with his tutor Professor Shu Degan. Publish 2 monographs; He has successively won the first prize for scientific and technological progress of the Ministry of Education1(ranked 7th in 2000), the second prize for scientific and technological progress of Shaanxi Province1(ranked 4th in 2003), and the third prize for scientific and technological progress of the Ministry of Geology and Minerals (1987, 1997, 200/).
