Beijing Electromechanical Integration Lightweight Research Institute Co., Ltd., formerly known as Advanced Manufacturing Technology Research Center of China Institute of Mechanical Science (hereinafter referred to as "Lightweight Institute"), is an independent entity directly managed by Institute of Mechanical Science (hereinafter referred to as "Institute").

As a general R&D institution, the Institute of Light Industry is mainly engaged in the research and development of applied basic technology and pre-competition technology in equipment manufacturing industry and the exploration of new technology fields, which is positioned in three aspects: supporting the national technological innovation system, industrial development of the group and industrial technology and information services.

The main responsibilities of the light sports institute are to cooperate with R&D, undertake R&D and incubate technology. The business philosophy of the research center is innovation, openness, cooperation and win-win. The construction goal of the research center is to become the R&D and industrial incubation base of new products and technologies of the General Institute, the main provider of achievements, papers and patents of the General Institute, the training base of scientific and technological talents of the General Institute, and the construction base of innovative institutions such as state key laboratories.
