1. What is meditation?

Meditation madetaion, which means "spiritual cultivation" in Hindi, is to cultivate a good state of mind. Its practical method is to focus on learning the "eight right paths".

The path of Buddhist practice enables monks and people at home to practice the Eight Righteousnesses according to their own way of life, thus improving their life realm and gradually reducing the shackles of worry, greed, resentment and delusion. Anyone who practices diligently can gradually realize the extremely meaningful and valuable truth from these unremarkable practices.

Eight right paths are eight different kinds of right paths, that is, right view, right thinking, right words, right career, right life, right diligence, right mindfulness and positive determination, which can be divided into three different categories of practice.

That is, right thinking and right thinking form "wisdom"-the cultivation of right knowledge and right thinking; Discipline, vocation and destiny constitute "abstinence from learning"-the cultivation of behavioral morality; Being diligent, mindful and positive, constitute the "fixed learning"-the cultivation of spiritual quality.

Meditation is the practice of fixed learning, that is, the practice of the last three right paths in the eight right paths, which enables us to work hard and cultivate the quality of positive enthusiasm and diligence-positive progress; Mindfulness means maintaining the quality of mindfulness, awareness and awareness for your body, mind and external environment, and never forgetting to lose or let go; Inner stability, calmness, happiness, love, and not easily shaken by bitterness and joy-a positive definition.

Meditators must thoroughly practice the Eight Meanings, because liberation comes from it, and troubles are mainly eliminated from it.

Meditation is not mysterious, but spiritual training.

2. What is mindfulness?

Mindfulness, the earliest source of literature, comes from the Buddhist "Four Minds and Various Classics", which was formally introduced by the Buddha for the first time 2600 years ago. It is the core Zen method in primitive Buddhism. Sometimes, mindfulness is also called meditation or Vipassana.

Mindfulness was introduced to the west in 1970s and 1980s, and attracted the attention of psychologists. It was introduced by scholars such as Joe Kabajin and made scientific research, and gradually improved and integrated into one of the most important concepts and technologies in contemporary psychotherapy, thus giving birth to many famous psychotherapy.

So there is no uniform definition of mindfulness. Some respected people think that it is pure attention and correct knowledge, while Kabakin thinks that it is awareness of every moment without judgment. Confield thinks it is love and awareness;

3. What is meditation?

To stop meditation (approximately equal to meditation) is to calm the chaotic thoughts in our minds and focus on something or something. For example, we often hear a guided meditation training, accompanied by soothing music, "close your eyes, slow down your breath and imagine a beautiful lake in front of you." The lake is clear and calm, and the sky and mountains are reflected on the lake ... Stay in this feeling for a while, and then slowly, slowly open your eyes ... "

We can simply understand meditation and mindfulness as two different ways of meditation. Although they are often discussed together, meditation and mindfulness are two completely different ways of attention management, and there are obvious differences between them.

From the perspective of Buddhism, meditation can be divided into meditation and meditation. There is a saying that you can refer to and understand both. If you don't get entangled in too many details, it can basically be divided into meditation and mindfulness. The simple explanation is:

Observing Zen (about equal to mindfulness) is to make our minds full of attention to the things around us and have a clear awareness of what is happening here at this moment. Mindfulness is the concentration of body and mind at present.

Explain the difference in one sentence: meditation emphasizes attention maintenance and aims to trigger a relaxed state from consciousness; Mindfulness focuses on monitoring attention and emphasizing acceptance without judgment.

Improving this awareness and attention is inseparable from regular mindfulness practice every day.

There are many ways to practice mindfulness. The most basic ones are mindfulness meditation and observing breathing. It can also become meditation, and there are many other formal forms, such as meditation, body scanning, mindfulness yoga, mindfulness dance and so on. , including the perception of happy and unhappy events, the awareness of breathing, and the careful awareness of daily behaviors and events.

Therefore, the immature and in-depth understanding at present is that meditation includes mindfulness, and mindfulness includes mindfulness meditation and guiding meditation to stop meditation.
