In the past 20 years, China's automobile industry has stepped into the track of rapid development, and the market demand is strong, which makes the global automobile manufacturers covet. In 2008, the production and sales of automobiles in China exceeded 9.2 million, making it the third largest automobile producer and the second largest new car consumer market in the world. As a pillar industry of the national economy, the automobile industry has become an important force to pull the country into a well-off society in an all-round way.

Behind the rapid development of automobile industry is the change of automobile consumers, especially private consumption has become the key force of automobile demand, which directly intensifies the competition of automobile manufacturers. Market competition has expanded from products and advertisements to all levels of automobile service.

Car owners' desire for high-level services has led to unprecedented prosperity of all kinds of services related to automobiles, and emerging services such as technical services, financial services, sales services, logistics services, survey services and cultural services have emerged in an endless stream, which has greatly lengthened and broadened the chain of the automobile industry and directly spawned the birth and growth of a new industry-automobile service industry.

Automobile service has become the most important part of modern service industry. Its service concept is constantly improving, and its service mode is also abandoning the traditional backward mode of business separation, independence and inefficiency, and developing in the depth direction of diversification of service subjects, chain operation, standardization of operation, business integration, brand specialization, advanced technology, informationization of means and internationalization of competition.

The profound changes in automobile industry and automobile service industry make the demand for high-quality talents for automobile manufacturers and automobile service providers more urgent than ever before. The industry regards whether there are enough high-quality talents for automobile service as the key factor for the success or failure of enterprise market competition.

Therefore, it is urgent to cultivate and bring up advanced applied innovative talents who can adapt to the development of automobile industry, have high cultural quality and good professional ethics, master and possess certain professional theoretical knowledge, strong practical skills and practical work ability, and can meet the needs of automobile maintenance, testing, marketing, management, evaluation, insurance and sales, and have all-round development in morality, intelligence, physique and aesthetics.

In 2003, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, Automobile College of Wuhan University of Technology enrolled the first undergraduate majoring in "Automobile Service Engineering" (080308W). As this major is the first in China, in order to run this major well, meet the social needs, ensure the smooth progress of teaching, improve the quality of students' training, and explore the training law of undergraduates majoring in automobile service engineering, the project team applied to the Hubei Provincial Department of Education for the teaching and research project "Research on the Construction of Automobile Service Engineering Specialty", which was approved in June 2003 +065438+ 10. After nearly three years of research, the project team has completely completed the research content of the project declaration, achieved the expected goal and achieved remarkable results. The main achievements and applications are summarized as follows:

I. Main achievements

1. Clarify the objectives, ideas and measures of specialty construction, and formulate the personnel training specifications.

Through research, the goal of specialty construction is to implement the Party's educational policy, adapt to the reform direction of contemporary higher education, which is "thick foundation, broad caliber, innovation, high quality and strong ability", cultivate compound talents with Scientific Outlook on Development, team spirit, innovative consciousness and international vision, and their knowledge, ability and quality can meet the needs of the development of contemporary automobile industry and automobile service industry, and build this specialty into a first-class training base and scientific research base for advanced automobile service talents in China.

The established ideas and measures of specialty construction are: conscientiously implement the school-running concept of "educating people first, putting academics first", firmly establish the consciousness of reform, quality, characteristics and innovation, take discipline construction as the leader, take the construction of teaching staff as the key, take curriculum construction, teaching material construction and condition construction as the basis, take the reform of talent training mode and teaching method as the breakthrough, and make full use of resources inside and outside the school to give full play to its advantages.

The established talent training specifications are: this major can adapt to the needs of modern automobile service industry, has good team spirit and professionalism, grasps the technical knowledge, business knowledge and management knowledge of automobile service, has the basic professional ability of "knowing products, good management, good service and innovation", has a certain ability to apply foreign languages and modern information technology, has comprehensive qualities of strong adaptability, hard-working spirit and strong innovation consciousness, and can engage in automobile beauty, automobile trade service and innovation work.

2. Formulated the first set of teaching documents, such as the undergraduate training program of automobile service engineering.

As we all know, the training program is the most basic document for professional construction and personnel training. After the establishment of the project, the project team conducted extensive social research on brother universities, automobile production enterprises, automobile sales and service enterprises and automobile finance and insurance enterprises, and fully listened to the opinions of experts, scholars and industry elites on the professional construction and personnel training of automobile service engineering.

Through investigation, the project team has mastered the requirements of social employers for the quality, knowledge and ability of graduates majoring in automobile service engineering, especially the core knowledge and ability that students should have. On the basis of investigation and study, the project team carefully studied the setting, teaching organization and teaching mode of theoretical courses and practical teaching links around the social and students' professional needs, scientifically formulated the talent training plan for automobile service engineering, and compiled a set of teaching syllabus for professional courses and practical links, which filled the gap in China.

The project team made persistent efforts to further develop various teaching documents, such as course assessment standards, student graduation thesis guidance, internship and computer guidance, which provided strong intellectual support for the college to run the automobile service engineering specialty well.

3. Scientific construction of practical teaching system for automobile service engineering specialty.

Automobile service engineering is a highly applied major, which requires students to have strong practical ability. The project team scientifically designed the practical teaching system of automobile service engineering specialty from the aspects of course experiment, practice, extracurricular scientific and technological activities and social practice.

According to the teaching objectives of the course, the project team carefully demonstrated the setting of experimental projects, reduced the demonstration and verification experiments, greatly increased the proportion of comprehensive, designed and open experiments, and newly opened independent experimental courses and professional cognitive practice, summer basic intensive training and ability expansion training.

4. Outstanding achievements in textbook construction.

Since 2003, the project team has attached great importance to the construction of teaching materials, and has published 20 professional teaching materials in mechanical industry, people's transportation, Wuhan University of Technology and other publishing houses. Among them, there are 3 national "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" textbooks and 3 textbooks of the Education Commission. These textbooks have been widely used in domestic universities. More than 26,000 copies of Automobile Marketing edited by Professor Zhang Guofang have been published, and Automobile Service Engineering won the second prize of excellent textbook of Wuhan University of Technology in 2005.

5. The course construction has achieved remarkable results.

In recent years, driven by project team members, teachers have actively participated in curriculum construction and achieved outstanding results. Four courses, such as automobile service engineering, automobile culture and human civilization, automobile engine principle and modern automobile foundation, are built into excellent courses in Hubei Province, and seven courses, such as automobile marketing and planning, are built into school-level excellent courses or excellent courses. In the course of curriculum construction, teachers also actively develop multimedia courseware and network courseware for many courses and put them into teaching application.

6. Actively seek support to promote the construction of laboratories and practice teaching bases.

In the last five years, the school directly invested more than 6 million yuan for the construction of teaching conditions in Automobile College, and the original value of teaching equipment donated by the society was more than 5 million yuan. With the active efforts of the project team, about 65,438+0/3 of the above investment was invested in the practical teaching construction project of automobile service engineering specialty. The school has successively built automobile diagnosis laboratory, automobile electronics laboratory and automobile business laboratory, as well as automobile disassembly practice base, automobile maintenance practice base, automobile driving practice base and students' scientific and technological innovation base, which provides a reliable guarantee for the cultivation of practical ability of automobile service engineering students. Among them, the virtual laboratory of automobile business is established by the members of the project team through the transformation of their own scientific research results and the secondary development of software. The laboratory has set up a virtual environment for automobile business, which can simulate the business processes of automobile manufacturers such as market research, vehicle sales, resource allocation, financial management, logistics and distribution. The laboratory is initiated by domestic universities and is at the leading level in China.

In order to make full use of off-campus resources, the project team established 14 off-campus practice bases in Dongfeng Motor Company, SAIC-GM-Wuling, China Automobile South Group, Wuhan Huaxing Handi and other automobile production and sales units, which better met the needs of practical teaching of this major.

7. Efforts should be made to promote the reform of teaching research and personnel training mode.

The project team actively carried out teaching and research work, and successfully declared and completed three teaching and research projects in Hubei Province, such as "Construction of Modern Centralized Control Automobile Laboratory", and seven school-level teaching and research projects, such as "Integration and Optimization of Automobile Structure Theory Teaching and Practice Teaching". Published more than 0 teaching research papers/kloc-0.

The project team organizes course teachers to often carry out teaching research activities such as teaching demonstrations, lectures by young teachers, exchange of teaching experience, and teaching comments. Actively promote the reform and innovation of teaching methods. After years of exploration, advanced teaching methods such as problem teaching, on-site teaching, incentive teaching, network teaching, experience teaching and practice teaching have been gradually summarized and applied in different courses.

At present, all theoretical courses of automobile service engineering major adopt multimedia teaching, and three courses of automobile marketing and planning adopt bilingual teaching.

In 2005, the school reached an agreement with the Air Force of Guangzhou Military Region to train national defense students majoring in automobile service engineering. Since that year, more than 50 national defense students have been recruited every year. In order to cooperate with this work, the project team actively reformed the talent training mode and contributed its own strength to the modernization of our army.

8. It has created an educational environment for college students to cultivate innovative consciousness and grow into talents.

Automobile service engineering is an applied and practical major, which is suitable for graduates to start their own businesses. Therefore, it is very important to cultivate students' practical ability and innovative consciousness. The project team makes full use of extracurricular scientific and technological activities platforms such as college students' scientific and technological innovation training plan, open laboratory, automobile cultural activities and various subject competitions, and actively strives for relevant government departments and enterprises to set up vocational skill certificate training bases in the Institute of Automotive Engineering, encouraging and guiding students to carry out various forms of professional practice and improve their professional skills.

In recent years, seven students in this major have won the Hubei Excellent Bachelor's Thesis Award, two students have won the national scientific and technological innovation training plan for college students, seven students have published scientific and technological papers, 1 students have won the Hubei Excellent Scientific Research Achievement Award, 12 students have won the automobile science and technology competition award, more than 30 students have participated in the open experimental project, and nearly 50% of the graduates have obtained automobile licenses, automobile salesmen and automobile salesmen.

9. A team of teachers with outstanding teaching ability has been trained.

Under the leadership of the college, the project team actively promoted the construction of teaching staff and achieved remarkable results. Based on the improvement of teachers' morality, with the improvement of teaching ability and scientific research ability as the core, we will build a team of professional teachers with reasonable structure and strong ability by introducing talents, improving academic qualifications, assisting teaching, "one-on-one mentoring", giving lectures and commenting, exchanging experiences, improving further studies and academic exchanges.

In the past three years, three teachers have won the excellent prize of school teaching quality, 1 teacher has won the first prize of the school young teachers' teaching competition, 1 teacher has won the model of school teachers' morality, two teachers have won the school advanced workers, two teachers have won the school excellent textbook teaching plan award, and the doctoral degree winner has increased from 9% to 50%. The teaching quality of all teachers has reached an excellent level.

10. Preparation of "Teaching Guidance Sub-committee of Automobile Service Engineering Specialty in Colleges and Universities"

Following our school, as of 2008, more than 60 universities in China, including Jilin University, Tongji University and Chang 'an University, have opened automobile service engineering majors, with a total enrollment of more than 5,000 students in that year.

In order to exchange information with each other, share the experience of running a school and promote the perfection of * * * *, at the initiative of Wuhan University of Technology, the project team was responsible for the positive response of more than 20 universities such as Jilin University and Chang 'an University at that time and the full support of People's Communications Publishing House. In 2006, Wuhan University of Technology successfully established the "Teaching Guidance Sub-committee of Automobile Service Engineering Specialty in Colleges and Universities", thus establishing a national professional construction platform.

After the establishment of the Teaching Guidance Sub-committee, it successfully held three working meetings in Wuhan University of Technology, Chang 'an University and Northeast Forestry University in 2006, 2007 and 2008 respectively, and introduced the guiding training scheme of automobile service engineering specialty to colleges and universities successively, formulated the "Eleventh Five-Year" textbook construction plan, discussed the basic norms of specialty construction and practical teaching conditions construction, exchanged experiences in curriculum construction and quality assurance system construction, and exchanged relevant school-running information. These fruitful works have been fully affirmed by the participating universities and have played a good leading role in the running of brother universities.

Second, the main innovations

1, which defines the connotation of automobile service engineering.

Based on the systematic study of the world automobile development experience, the professional connotation of automobile service engineering is defined for the first time in China, which covers all kinds of technical and non-technical services involved in the process of new cars leaving the factory, entering sales circulation and scrapping, and also extends to other services in automobile production and automobile ecology.

2. Determine the training objectives of undergraduate students majoring in automobile service engineering, and formulate a training plan to fill the gaps in China.

On the basis of in-depth analysis of the demand for automobile service talents in the development of China's automobile industry, this paper systematically analyzes the professional quality composition of automobile service talents for the first time in China, and accordingly puts forward the undergraduate training goal of automobile service engineering: to cultivate senior engineering talents with comprehensive quality who understand technology, manage and serve well and adapt to the work in the automobile service field. Under the guidance of the principle of "broad caliber, thick foundation, strong ability and good innovation", a complete and systematic training plan has been formulated with full consideration of certain foresight and openness, which fills the gap in China.

3. Established the automobile business simulation laboratory for the first time, which is at the leading level in China.

In order to adapt to the future development of China's automobile business trade, the automobile business simulation laboratory was built creatively by using modern IT technology for the first time in China, and the automobile business simulation environment was built under the laboratory conditions to simulate all business processes of automobile production enterprises, such as market research, vehicle sales, resource allocation, financial management, logistics and distribution. It provides a new and effective way for undergraduates' practical teaching and theoretical study.

Third, the main application

1. Cultivate senior engineering talents to meet the needs of society.

The results of the project have been applied to the teaching theory system and practice system of the undergraduate major of automobile service engineering in Wuhan University of Technology, and the effect is good. At present, our school has completed the training of the first national graduates of this major, which has been well received by employers.

2. Support the development of disciplines.

The achievements of the project have played a supporting role in the construction of master's degree and doctoral degree programs in automotive application engineering.

3. It has obvious demonstration effect in domestic universities.

The research results of the project have produced a good demonstration radiation effect in domestic universities. So far, 42 schools, including Chang 'an University and Changsha University of Science and Technology, have successively set up automobile service engineering majors, which have received strong support from our school in the process of professional declaration and construction of these schools. From professional research, professional declaration to making professional training plan and constructing experimental teaching system, the research results of this project are used for reference. Most schools choose the textbooks compiled by our school, and some schools draw lessons from our courseware and the construction scheme of automobile business laboratory. See annex 14 for the supporting materials of some colleges and universities using and drawing lessons from the achievements of this project.

4. It provides good service for the employee training of automobile service enterprises.

The achievements of the project in the construction of excellent courses, courseware and teaching materials have been applied in the employee training and continuing education of SAIC-GM-Wuling, Wuhan Longtaiyuan Automobile Sales and Service Company and China Ping An Insurance Company Hubei Company. 5, support the national college automobile service engineering professional teaching steering committee (chips).

In the work activities of the teaching committee (to be established) of automobile service engineering major in national colleges and universities (hereinafter referred to as the "teaching committee"), the results of the project have been popularized and applied. Based on the research results of this project, the teaching committee has put forward the guiding training scheme and practical teaching system of this major.
