Lao Zi, surnamed Li and Bo Yang, was born in Guxian County of Chu in the late Spring and Autumn Period. He was a famous thinker in ancient China and the founder of Taoist school. Laozi devoted himself to the personal moral cultivation of "weakness" and "inaction". His main work, Tao Te Ching, is the most authoritative classic of Taoism.
