After reading Laozi, I was shocked to read that I dare to kill, but I dare not live.
Courage, courage and courage are not the same thing.
In this world, there are few brave people and too many brave people, so there are fewer hearts and more deaths.
The brave do not dispute, modesty, gentleness, tolerance and inaction.
Those who dare are competitive, arrogant, strong, narrow and omnipotent.
Being brave and not daring is a good quality.
Laozi talked about the importance of "dare not" several times. He said:
Gai Wenshan, who took photos, walked in the mausoleum without encountering a concave tiger, and did not wear armor and soldiers when he joined the army. The concave has to throw its horn, the tiger doesn't know its claws, and the soldier has no blade. Why? No death.
People who cherish life, walking in the mountains, will not be attacked by rhinoceros and tigers, fighting in the army, will not be killed by spears, but there is no place to fall. Although the evil tiger is fierce, there is no place to use a weapon, and there is no chance to use it, because people who are good at living will not let themselves fall into the desperate situation of death. ]
Brave people will create a kind of flexibility, a space, a possibility and a turning point, so that brave people will not fall into despair.
Zhuangzi's Autumn Water further illustrates this truth:
The most virtuous people, fire can heat, water can drown, cold and heat can harm, and animals can steal. It's not that you've lost weight. It's better to observe safety than luck, but that you can't get hurt if you go.
An enlightened person cannot be heated by fire, submerged by water, harmed by cold and heat, or violated by animals. It doesn't mean that he won't be hurt if he violates these things, but that he can see clearly in safety, be prepared for danger in times of adversity, advance and retreat cautiously, and won't be hurt at all. ]
He is too complacent! No matter how you advance or retreat, you can stay on the road!
Therefore, people who go to Taoism dare not be reckless, struggle for power and profit, waste their lives or go with the flow, but they must have the courage to explore, pursue tranquility and be cautious. This is real courage.
There is another sentence in Laozi, which can be used as the life motto of learners:
I have three treasures, and I will take good care of them. Be kind for one day, thrifty for two days, and dare not be the best in the world for three days. Kindness makes me brave, frugality makes me broad, and I dare to be the first in the world to become a good person. In the future, I will be kind and brave, frugal and broad, and would rather die than surrender!
I have three beloved treasures that I have always treasured. One is kindness, the other is frugality, and the third is not daring to stay ahead of the rest of the world. Kindness makes me want to protect all beings, and naturally develop courage, thrift and virtue, so I can be all-encompassing, dare not be ahead of the world, not be proud, not lose the group, not be lonely, and be integrated with all things, so I can become the spirit of all things. If a person can't live, he wants to be the first, and he is also a dead end! ]
"Being kind, frugal and striving for the first place" should be the creed of every Zen believer!
In our life, we have a lot of courage and courage. "Dare to act" is not cowardice, but knowing that weakness is better than strength, tranquility is better than restlessness, and prudence is better than rudeness, thus creating a straightforward attitude towards life.
Dare to pay, dare not sacrifice lightly. Dare to pay, dare not expect to return. Dare to love, dare not expect success. Dare to promise each other in life, dare not die. Dare to create achievements, dare not persist in success or failure. Dare to speak for yourself in since the enlightenment, dare not laugh at yourself. ..............
This is the thinking of life. Courage is an accelerator, not a brake.
