Business training objectives: This major trains high-level, high-quality and all-round scientific research and engineering talents who have extensive basic knowledge of science and engineering, such as metal materials, inorganic non-metallic materials and polymer materials, and can be engaged in scientific research and teaching, technology development, process and equipment design, technical transformation and management in the fields of preparation, processing and molding of various materials, and the development of socialist market economy.

Business training requirements: Students in this major mainly study the basic theory of materials science and engineering, and learn and master the basic laws of the relationship between the preparation, composition, organizational structure and performance of materials. Basic training in preparation, performance analysis and testing skills of metal materials, inorganic nonmetallic materials, polymer materials, composite materials and various advanced materials. Master the basic training of material design and preparation process design, improve material performance and product quality, and develop analysis and testing skills. Graduates should have the following knowledge and abilities:

1. Master the basic theories of high-tech materials science such as metallic materials, inorganic nonmetallic materials and polymer materials, and the professional basic knowledge of material synthesis and preparation, material composite and material design;

2. Master the basic knowledge of material performance testing and product quality control, and have the preliminary ability to research and develop new materials and new processes;

4. Have the basic knowledge and skills of mechanical design, electrical and electronic technology and computer application necessary for this major;
