Butterfly lovers is a love novel of China with a long history, which is as famous as Romeo and Juliet written by Shakespeare. Zhu Yingtai, the heroine of the story, is the daughter of Zhujiazhuang. On the way to study in Hangzhou disguised as a man, she met Liang Shanbo, a scholar who also went to study in Hangzhou, and fell in love with each other in her subsequent study life. Unfortunately, Mr. Zhu had betrothed Yingtai to the son of Taishou, became depressed and died soon. Zhu Yingtai was heartbroken and vowed to die. Finally, he and Liang Shanbo became a butterfly and left freely. This is a beautiful, sad and touching love story, and the violin concerto Butterfly Lovers is based on this story, which explains the composer's understanding of this beautiful story with notes. My appreciation is mainly analyzed from three aspects: the legend of Liang Zhu, the background information of the composer, and the emotional changes expressed in the process of music performance.

Text:

Butterfly lovers is a beautiful, sad and touching love story, which can be said to be a household name in China. The violin concerto Butterfly Lovers is also adapted from it.

The violin concerto Butterfly Lovers was written on 1959. The authors are He and Chen Gang. He is familiar with violin and Yue Opera music, and Chen Gang has a comprehensive grasp of various composing techniques. When they wrote Liang Zhu, they were all students of Shanghai Conservatory of Music. Chen Gang is now a professor at Shanghai Conservatory of Music and a famous composer in China.

In order to explore the nationalization and popularization of China Symphony, the two authors followed the principle of "making the past serve the present and making foreign things serve China", broke superstition and dared to practice. They chose the love story of the folk legend "Butterfly Lovers", which is well-known to the broad masses of people in China, as the music material, adopted the exotic genre of concerto, and absorbed the rich expression techniques in China opera music. Charming melody, vivid musical image, rich national style and distinctive local characteristics make this work deeply rooted in people's hearts and affectionately called "our own symphony music" by the masses, which has taken a gratifying step on the road of music nationalization. Over the past 30 years, it has traveled across the ocean and flew to all parts of the world, and has performed in countries such as the Soviet Union, the United States, Britain and France, which has been highly appreciated by the world music scene and won honor for the motherland. In Hong Kong, he won the Gold Record Award and Platinum Record Award for four consecutive times. In foreign countries, this song is called "Butterfly's Love", which is widely spread and welcomed by people of different skin colors.

Music begins with an introduction. Introduction Music shows us a beautiful and moving picture.

Then, accompanied by a light harp, the violin solo is simple, sweet and deep, which shows the sincere and sweet love between Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai. Then, the melody played by the cello responds to the solo violin. This song is affectionate and euphemistic, which shows us the touching scene of loving and worshipping the pavilion of Caoqiao Bridge in Liangzhu. After the answer, the ensemble of the band reproduces the theme of love and fully demonstrates Liang Zhu's unswerving faith in love. Next, the solo violin plays the transition music from the main part to the auxiliary part, and the end leads to a lively allegro, which is in sharp contrast with the tender and affectionate love theme. Then violin solos and bands alternate. This piece of music is sometimes cheerful and bright, sometimes gentle and cheerful, and sometimes passionate, which naturally reminds us of all kinds of life pictures that Liang students get along with day and night: they either sing and laugh, or have a long talk, or chase and play, or are affectionate. This piece of music once again fully embodies the pure study life between Liang Zhu and the sincere love gradually emerging from different angles.

Music became adagio, and the solo violin played music that seemed to be divorced from the main part of the love theme, which showed Zhu Yingtai's inner feelings of shyness and silence. Then, the violin and cello played a touching and affectionate answer melody, which vividly, delicately and affectionately showed us the scene of Liang Zhu's farewell to the Pavilion on the 18th, which was poetic and fascinating.

Suddenly, the muffled sound of gongs and drums suggested an ominous omen. The band played a rigid and repetitive tone, which plunged us into a tragic struggle. Then, the solo violin played the tone of Zhu Yingtai's anxiety and grief, which showed Zhu Yingtai's heroic spirit of resisting feudal ethics. Next, Zhu Yingtai's anti-marriage argument and brutal feudal forces appeared alternately, forming the focus of contradiction, which eventually developed into a tragic scene of anti-marriage between Britain and Taiwan. Following this exciting and fierce struggle melody, the whole band played a clear tone, which was based on the melody sent at the end of the previous paragraph. It represents the light of hope imagined by kind people and forms the first climax of the whole song. The illusion disappears instantly, and the rigid tone reappears, which indicates that the feudal rule is as heavy as a rock, and the good hopes of good people are difficult to realize.

The music turned to adagio, and the solo violin played euphemistic tunes, such as weeping, choking people's hearts and lungs, and the cello answered again, describing the scene of Liang Zhu meeting on the balcony and telling each other's heartfelt feelings and deep sorrow.

The sudden intrusion of drums and percussion created a tense atmosphere. Music is sometimes passionate, decisive and sometimes low, which vividly shows the image of Zhu Yingtai facing the sky, angrily accusing the feudal forces of evil and sobbing and mourning. When Zhu Yingtai gave the last cry, gongs, drums and bands rang in unison, and Yingtai plunged into the grave, and the whole song reached its climax.

The music was serene and quiet again, and the flute played an introduction phrase again. At this time, the violin lyrically and slowly played the theme of love again, adding a hazy fairyland color. Here, the author expresses the people's beautiful ideals in a romantic way, as if the severe winter has passed and the bright spring has come to the world. A pair of butterflies live together and dance among the flowers. They fly from time to time, rest and are very happy. This is the embodiment of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai. They can't get married before they die, but they want to fly with me after they die.

Finally, the whole band played the theme of love and poured out like a torrent, expressing the people's deep sympathy for Liang Zhu's tragic fate and infinite yearning for a better life in the future.

Music shows Liang Zhu and young men and women's strong resistance to feudal ethics, praises their unswerving love and shows people's yearning for a better life. While enjoying this piece of music, I also appreciate its beauty.
