The Asia-Pacific Mathematical Modeling Competition is a discipline competition for college students in the Asia-Pacific region, which is jointly organized by the Organizing Committee of the Asia-Pacific Mathematical Competition for College Students and Mathematicians (formerly Institute of Mathematical Modeling). The competition lasts for 4 days, and the participants are full-time college students. The team consists of 1-3 college students. The questions and test materials of the competition are all in English, and students are required to write their answers in English. It is another international mathematical modeling competition after the American college students' mathematical modeling competition, and it is also a large-scale activity before the American mathematical modeling competition begins.
APMCM aims to further popularize the knowledge of mathematical modeling, cultivate the logical thinking ability of contemporary college students to find, analyze and solve problems in the information society, improve their comprehensive ability to use computer technology to build mathematical models and solve complex social and engineering problems in many industries, encourage college students to actively participate in extracurricular science and technology competitions, broaden their knowledge, cultivate innovative spirit and cooperative consciousness, and promote their understanding of society and attention to the times. At the same time, the simulation of the competition topic mode and the English version of the paper submission method allow students to experience the feeling of the competition in advance and accumulate experience for the competition.
