I. Training objectives
This major trains senior engineers who have knowledge of pharmaceutical engineering and can engage in pharmaceutical product production, scientific and technological development, applied research and management in the departments of medicine, pesticides, fine chemicals and biochemistry.
Second, the training requirements
1. Love the motherland, support the leadership of the * * * production party and master the basic theories of Marxism–Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory and Theory of Three Represents. Love this major, have the ambition and sense of responsibility to strive for the prosperity of the motherland and the nation, abide by the law, be hard-working and realistic, have dialectical thinking, and have good ideological quality and professional ethics;
2 master the basic theory and knowledge of chemical pharmacy, biopharmaceuticals, traditional Chinese medicine pharmacy and pharmaceutical preparation technology and engineering;
3. Master the process and equipment design method of drug production device;
4 have the preliminary ability to research, develop and design new drug resources, new products and new processes;
5. Be familiar with the national guidelines, policies and regulations on chemical drug production, design, research and development, environmental protection, etc. ;
6. Understand the theoretical frontiers of pharmaceutical engineering and preparations, and understand the development trends of new industries, new technologies and new equipment;
7. Have a sense of innovation and the ability to acquire new knowledge independently.

Seven, curriculum and teaching hours and credits
Students of this major must complete 189 credits during their stay in school, including compulsory course 139 credits, elective course 5 credits, quality improvement 6 credits (including academic and scientific activities 2 credits, campus cultural activities 2 credits, social practice and staff service activities 2 credits), and graduation internship 39 credits.

Eight, practical teaching links
In the teaching process, students are taught basic teaching and scientific research methods and skills through experiments, discussions and lectures, and students are organized to participate in some scientific research activities and academic lectures. Including military education, internship, academic research activities, campus cultural activities, social practice and voluntary service activities, students are required to participate in social practice activities for 50 hours in summer vacation and 30 hours in winter vacation.
Nine, graduation practice and graduation design
At the end of the third academic year, students began to arrange a 39-week internship. In the eighth semester, after returning to school, students will design their graduation project with pharmaceutical engineering as the theme under the guidance of their tutors, and defend their papers. Graduation scores will be evaluated according to the quality of graduation thesis and defense.
X. Performance evaluation
Those who have completed the courses specified in the professional training plan, passed the examination and completed the graduation thesis and defense are allowed to graduate. Those who meet the Detailed Rules for Granting Bachelor's Degree in Southern Anhui Medical College (Provisional) will be awarded a bachelor's degree in engineering.
