If this operation is feasible, all researchers who have published papers can expect that one day, a colleague will say that he/she can't repeat one of your results, so he/she can justifiably ask you to repeat the experiment to prove your innocence.
Major achievements:
Pei Gang verified the hypothesis of receptor activation balance by using G protein-coupled receptor variation. It was found that the C-terminal of opioid receptor (G protein coupling) was phosphorylated under the action of agonist, which led to desensitization of opioid receptor. It reveals the important role of opioid receptor signal desensitization and negative feedback regulation in the formation of opioid addiction.
Scientific research achievement award:
As of February 2009, Pei Gang has successively won the first prize of scientific and technological progress from the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) and China, the second prize of National Natural Science, the first prize of China Medical Science and Technology Award, the first prize of Shanghai Natural Science Award and the first prize of Shanghai Scientific and Technological Progress Award.
