Since the establishment of 20 15, the Oncology Department of the Third People's Hospital of Hubei Province has been exploring how tumor treatment can bring more support to patients, families and society. On 20/0/7, a hospice pain ward was established, with 6 pain wards in the ward. The ward is equipped with brightly colored suites, including a separate bathroom, TV, refrigerator and other conveniences. The pain treatment group of hospice care is equipped with more than three attending doctors, several senior nurses, as well as professionals such as rehabilitators, nutritionists and psychological counselors.
Hospice care pain ward provides physical, psychological and spiritual care and humanistic care for patients with advanced cancer by controlling their pain and discomfort symptoms before dying.
Once diagnosed, cancer patients seem to be closely related to death, and patients with advanced cancer have become the main targets of hospice care. The purpose of hospice care is not to cure diseases and prolong life, but to relieve patients' pain, so that patients can live in a home-like environment and spend the last stage of their lives comfortably and with dignity.
