1. Writing a thesis is a systematic project. Different from writing a paper, you need to have an overall thinking and planning from the beginning, such as document management, document index, data management, table and picture management. It is suggested that a folder should be established at the beginning, including all aspects of subfolders, classified and systematically managed, and get twice the result with half the effort.
2. Write in one go. It is extremely painful to see many people writing papers, half a page today and hundreds of words tomorrow. Before you start writing, you'd better think and clear your mind before you start writing. Sometimes the writing is fluent, and it is not surprising to write a paper in a day or two.
Don't expect a draft to be finished. The most important thing in writing a paper is the first draft, because starting from scratch is the most difficult. After the first draft comes out, no matter how sharp and changeable the opinions are, it is not too difficult to modify them. As the saying goes, the final draft is always unrecognizable compared with the first draft. So for the first draft, it should be fast, not fine.
4. Don't rush to generate a list of bibliographic documents. Because once this document list is inserted, it will always be updated repeatedly when it is changed, and sometimes word will crash, resulting in improper preservation or loss of papers. If you use software such as endnote, use {author's name, year and other information} at the place where you insert the literature when writing, and finally generate a list together.
5. The idea of the paper is still different from that of the paper. For a paper, exquisiteness is not the most important requirement, but details are the most important. For paper, exquisiteness is the most important, because magazines often have word limits, and exquisite words will be more favored by magazines. Therefore, when writing a paper, we must strive to be detailed, especially the first draft, which can be slightly deleted when it is revised later.
6. You will always find that word will "make mistakes" from time to time. For example, why the directory format is always wrong, why the option of "only updating page numbers" in the directory is gone, how to insert page numbers on the left side of the horizontal version, how to customize the page number of the footer, and how to distinguish between inserting page breaks and section break. Remember, once you encounter similar problems, you should find and solve them as soon as possible. It's not that there is something wrong with Word design, but that you can't use it. Most of the time.
7. Communicate the progress and requirements of thesis writing with the tutor in time. Every tutor has different habits. For example, my tutor in Hong Kong didn't read the whole manuscript, and now the German boss asked me to write a chapter for her to correct. The final quality control is in the hands of the tutor, so communication is the most important.
8. Take the thesis as the starting point of your rigorous scientific research. As we all know, no one reads the paper, even if it is finally archived in the library, it may never be seen. However, the gains in the process of thesis writing are incomparable, and there are not many opportunities for thesis writing, that is to say, there are not many opportunities to write a work systematically (those who can publish a book will be skipped). If you write too much paper, you will find that the paper is actually very easy to write, and it is all one piece. The paper contains too many systematic things and covers a wide range. So, if you really want to be a rigorous scientist in the future, please write your paper carefully, even if no one will read it in the future. Moreover, papers are often very long, and most of them don't want to read what they have written, so that many places in the paper may not be read by themselves.
9. Name paper documents. This is a small problem, and everyone may have different habits. I have a little suggestion, that is, use the title _ version number _ year, month and day of the paper. Such as AAA and BBB _ V2 _ 20 13050 1. The version number here is very important. Sometimes we just spend time, but in the end, you will find that time is not important. Because you have to browse the folder according to the modification time in the end, you often can't remember the previous documents. This version is very useful. The first version is the first draft, the second version is revised once, and so on. Of course, you can add the name of the modifier after the time to prove who modified it.
