Xi Longfei 1930 was born in meihekou city, Jilin, Manchu. Professor, Department of Ship Engineering, Wuhan Jiaotong University, 1980- 199 1, concurrently editor-in-chief of Journal of Wuhan Jiaotong University. He is currently the director of China Shipbuilding Engineering Society and the vice president of China Shipbuilding History Research Association. He has been engaged in the teaching and research of ship design, ship type technical and economic demonstration and ship development history for a long time, and has obtained special government subsidies since 1993. In the study of ship history, many field visits and micro-restoration were made to the unearthed ancient ships. The five generations of ship models of Han, Sui, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties were exhibited in Beijing Military Museum and Shandong Dengzhou Ancient Ship Museum respectively. He has published more than 70 academic papers at home and abroad, including "Principles of Ship Design", "Introduction to Ships" and "China Shipbuilding Industry" (picture album).
