So, I summarize it here.
seven
Some common format problems, I hope to help you.
Title style setting of each chapter
1. Set titles at all levels in the style bar above, as shown in the following figure:
2. Set the level for the title of your own article, for example, the total title of the article can be set to title1; The title of each chapter is set to title 2; The subtitle of each chapter is heading 3; If necessary, set Heading 4, Heading 5, etc.
3. Right-click the title, select Modify, and set the specific title style, as shown in the figure below.
Modify kerning and line spacing
1. Select the content to be adjusted, and click the small arrow in the toolbar above with the left mouse button to adjust the kerning or line spacing.
2. Word spacing: Adjust by setting spacing format and point size as needed.
3. Line spacing: Set an appropriate spacing value as required, generally between 1 and 1.5.
Page number and page number format
1. Click Insert-Page Number in the menu bar, and generally choose to insert a page number at the bottom of the page. At the same time, by setting the page number format, set the page number as Arabic numerals or Roman numerals as needed.
2. Double-click the bottom of the page and select Set Page Number. Enter to complete more specific settings. For example: modify the font, modify the font size, and add-at both ends of the page number (in the form of "-1-").
Section break and page breaks
Many times, our page numbers require Roman numerals in front and Arabic numerals in the back, so we need to set up section break to distinguish them.
Let me briefly talk about the usage and differences between section break and page breaks:
●
Section break: Used to divide the article into several sections, which are orthogonal to each other and do not affect each other. Therefore, separate page numbers, headers, etc. Can be set.
●
Page break: used to separate chapters of an article. Operations related to the body of the previous chapter, such as blank lines, insertion and deletion, will not affect the following contents (such as moving up and down).
Generally speaking, section break is used where page numbers need to be distinguished, and page breaks are inserted between chapters of an article.
The use and operation of page breaks are relatively simple. Let's talk about section break in detail:
1. Location of section break: Page Layout-Delimiter-section break. Usually we use "next page" and "continuous". There are usages and differences between the two in the picture, so you can choose according to your needs. Individuals generally use "continuous".
2. Choose according to your needs. There is a small sign in the start toolbar (the red box in the picture below). After clicking, all the identifiers we set will appear, which is convenient for us to modify (such as deleting section break).
3. Operate the section break, as shown in the red box below. Place the cursor in front of section break and press Del to delete section break.
4. Page number setting: Select the page number below the page number that has been set for section break, and you can adjust the page number, so that you can get the page numbers of different modes.
Note: After selecting the page number, it is found that the article has been divided into two sections through section break. At this time, you can modify the page number of the first section (for example, to Roman numerals).
But this time, the problem came again. Our page number below starts from 2, which is not the expected 1. What should we do?
This problem seems to be easy to solve, that is: page number setting page-page number-starting page number-1.
But after the above operation, you will find that the page number actually starts with 2.
What if we manually change 2 to 1? This is also unacceptable, because it will cause all subsequent page numbers to be 1.
In fact, the correct way is to select "Next Page" when inserting section break.
Header and footer
Generally speaking, the operation of the footer is similar to the page number, so I won't go into details here.
Briefly talk about the header: the header is used to mark the article, as shown below:
But sometimes, two different headers need to appear alternately, which requires the use of different even and odd pages.
different odd and even pages
By setting different parity pages, you can use different titles on the parity pages.
However, this function will be limited by the page number setting.
For example, if we set the first page as Roman numeral I and the second page as Arabic numeral 1, then both pages will be regarded as odd pages, so the headers are the same.
In other words, the so-called parity page is not aimed at the parity page of the article itself, but the parity page marked by our page number.
At this time, you need the function of "Link to the previous header"!
"Link to previous title"
Here is my personal understanding and experience, and there is no guarantee that it will be accurate.
Linking to the previous header means that this header is associated with the previous page header, which means that any modification to two headers will change both headers at the same time.
Therefore, you need to close the link to the previous title.
