Yu Min, known as the father of China's hydrogen bomb, not only solved a series of basic problems such as the physics of thermonuclear weapons on the principle of hydrogen bomb, but also put forward a basic and complete idea from principle to configuration. Later, he participated in and led the theoretical research of nuclear weapons for a long time and solved a large number of key theoretical problems.

One: For most people, the name Yu Min is unfamiliar, but in China's nuclear weapons field, he is called the father of the hydrogen bomb. He devoted himself to national defense construction from 196 1 and has been studying hard for more than half a century. He said that the country needs me, and I have been trying my best, so I have been working in the field of weapons research.

Two: Yu Min, 1944, was admitted to the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of Peking University Institute of Technology, and then transferred to the Department of Physics. 196 1 year, Qian Sanqiang, then Vice Minister of the Second Ministry of the State, found Yu Min and gave him a confidential job: to prepare for the development of hydrogen bombs in China. At that time, all aspects of technical conditions in China were quite backward, and the data of all parties were almost zero. Yu Min started from scratch. He collected as much foreign information as possible and tried his best to conduct theoretical research and design exploration of hydrogen bombs. He said that hydrogen bombs have engineering problems, technical problems and scientific problems, all of which are cutting-edge technologies, so there are many things to learn and many things not to understand.

Three: For Yu Min, work is almost the whole of his life. In order to get an accurate data, he even drew a characteristic line on the ground, and then immediately explained to everyone that Yu Min worked day and night, sometimes because of a sudden inspiration, he got up at the table in the middle of the night. In an experiment, it was suddenly discovered that there might be something wrong with one of the data in the original design, but at this time, the experimental device had gone down the well, and he knew that he had to bear the responsibility, or he immediately reported to his superiors and asked to suspend the experiment. After a day and a night of investigation, the problem was finally solved. He showed a satisfied smile and reported to his superiors to continue the experiment.

Yu Min has won numerous honors in his life, including the first prize of National Natural Science Award, China Outstanding Scientist Award, Two Bombs and One Satellite Meritorious Medal, and 20 14 touching people in China.
