First, the development of ice and snow culture

Ice and snow culture is a regional culture. As a cultural phenomenon, it has existed for a long time. It originated from the production and living activities of people of all ethnic groups in cold areas. Since the development of ice and snow culture, it has experienced the stages of cultural value development, such as natural birth, spontaneous survival, conscious production and now free life. This is not only the development course of ice and snow culture, but also the track of human social and cultural development.

When human civilization enters the industrial age, the natural environment can no longer bind people's activity space and content. From logging in the mountains, promoting the melting of ice and snow by blackening, to icebreakers, refrigerators and ice-making factories, people have regarded ice and snow as economic resources.

With the arrival of the era of cultural consumption, ice and snow tourism resources are constantly being developed, such as ice and snow sports, ice and snow tourism, ice and snow art and so on.

Now, as a cultural carrier, ice and snow culture involves architecture, utensils, food, history, economy, art, literature, sports, entertainment, clothing, customs, streets and other aspects.

In 1930s, with the rise of Harbin, a modern city, a diet named after ice and snow appeared. At that time, the menu operated by Futailou appeared "Frozen Shrimp", "Iced Shark's Fin" and "Snowflake Tremella". At this time, the ice and snow diet stands out from the folk stream with the cultural characteristics of ice and snow symbols and flows into the river of ice and snow culture.

In 1980s, during the 3rd Harbin Ice and Snow Festival, Jiangnanchun Hotel held the Ice and Snow Festival Cooking Technology Grand Prix, and successively introduced more than 80 kinds of diet recipes such as "Eight Scenes of Ice City" and "Snowflake Freezing Point". At this time, the ice and snow diet culture began to develop and formed its own characteristics.
