Shortly after Wei Zifu became pregnant, Liu Pu, the mother of Queen Chen, kidnapped Wei Qing at work with the intention of killing her. After being rescued, Emperor Wu appointed Wei Qing as a middle school assistant and supervisor, and Wei Zifu as his wife, and the Wei family became rich from then on. After that, Wei Qing and his nephew Huo Qubing made great achievements in the war against Xiongnu, which made the northern border of Dahan long-term.

Here is for reference only, because the historical materials recorded by Gong Chufu are almost contradictory to those recorded by Sima Qian! According to historical records, Pingyang and Wei Qing got married, not when Wei Qing paid a visit to the general in Yuanshuo in 1956, but two years after Ding Yuan. At this time, not only the battle of Mobei ended, but also Huo Qubing was dead.
After Princess Pingyang married Wei Qing, the record in Historical Records changed from "Princess" to "princess royal", which may be the compensation of Liu Che, the Emperor of the Han Dynasty, for his sister's misfortune in marriage and family. However, this marriage did not last for ten years. In the fifth year of Yuanfeng (BC 106), Wei Qing died of illness. Wei Heng, the eldest son of Wei Qing, inherited Changping Hou because of Pingyang princess royal.
Princess Pingyang became a widow for the third time and never remarried. According to Han records, she was buried with Wei Qing voluntarily (the burial system in the Western Han Dynasty was different, Pingyang tomb was about1.300m east of Wei Qing's tomb), and she was buried with her in Maoling.
