From the perspective of cultivating "academic masters", you'd better be "well educated" and read literature (including textbooks and published papers) every day. But this is only a very ideal situation! If so, you will never graduate! This is because reading literature is "input" and graduation needs "output".
During graduate school, reading literature should have a clear purpose, not just for fun. The purpose is very clear, either to find topics and ideas, or to serve the introduction of graduation thesis, or to find the attribution of peaks (experimental data), or to find arguments to prove their views, or to serve the writing of scientific research papers and occasionally learn how to write them.
Intensive reading and extensive reading:
When reading specific articles, we should also skip irrelevant articles, or even just look at the title and abstract and put it aside. General article, understand the main idea and theme. Good articles and directly related articles need intensive reading. In addition to understanding the specific meaning, we also need to know how the experiment is conducted, how to get pictures, what are these pictures, how to draw specific conclusions from the pictures, how to analyze the data, and what are the problems in this article.
This is why I hope my classmates will explain a document to me every 10 day in the first semester of postgraduate entrance examination. Graduate students (especially graduate students) are at home now, so it is best to choose an article every week to do PPT, explain it to the tutor online, discuss it with the tutor and get guidance from the tutor. In this way, progress has been made in making PPT, explaining PPT, reading literature, critical thinking and mastering professional knowledge, which is much better than just reading a lot of literature.
