Investigation report on college students' moral status

College students are a new generation of power and the main new force in the future society.

The moral status of college students will directly affect the overall quality of the Chinese nation, the process of building a harmonious society, the success or failure of socialist modernization and the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. The morality of college students belongs to the civic morality of a specific social group, so their moral orientation is the vane of social morality, and its quality can directly reflect the problems existing in this society.

The moral status quo of contemporary college students is confusing, with both good and bad aspects. Under the pressure of employment, economy and society, the moral status of college students is worth thinking about.

In order to understand the ideological status and moral quality of college students in Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai, let us know ourselves more correctly, cultivate good behavior habits, learn to be a man, obey the law, be vigilant and evaluate ourselves.

I conducted a half-month questionnaire survey among college students from 1 1 month 15 to1month 30, 2007. I sent out 20 questionnaires and * * * took back 20 valid questionnaires.

The respondents involved students of different majors and grades in the school. The contents of the survey include college students' political literacy, social morality and personal moral quality.

The following is a questionnaire on college students' moral status:

First, the meaning of morality and its importance to college students

1. The meaning of morality: Morality is an important content of developing advanced culture and building human civilization, especially spiritual civilization.

What we usually call morality refers to the principles and standards that people should follow in their behavior.

The definition of morality can be summarized as follows: morality is a special code of conduct put forward by a certain society and class to deal with various relationships between individuals and between individuals and society.

This concept shows that morality is a code of conduct based on good and evil, which regulates the relationship between people and between individuals and society.

Morality always promotes good and suppresses evil.

Morality is different from law. It judges a person's quality according to social public opinion, traditional culture and living habits, and it is mainly maintained by people's conscious inner thoughts.

2. The importance of morality to college students:

Morality, as a social ideology, is an invisible great power.

The Chinese nation is a state of etiquette famous for advocating morality, and its excellent traditional moral spirit is the core of China cultural tradition and the profound essence of moral education in China.

In today's materialistic society, correct morality and lofty thoughts are particularly important.

Especially for today's college students, having good ideological and moral quality is not only the inherent need of college students to be human, but also can promote their down-to-earth learning pursuit and improve their own quality, and stress credit, credibility and honesty in social activities.

At the same time, strengthening the cultivation of college students' honesty and morality can also promote the school to standardize its own behavior, establish the concept of honesty and realize the rule of law and the rule of virtue.

It has immeasurable influence and significance even to the whole country and society.

Second, about political literacy, social morality and personal morality.

1. Political literacy: manifested in college students' political attitudes, ideals and beliefs, including their understanding of the country's major policies, political situation and economic situation, their understanding of the party's line, principles and policies, and the establishment of a sense of historical mission and social responsibility.

The survey results show that college students in our school have high political consciousness and deep feelings for the motherland. They have an objective understanding of the moral quality of our citizens, college students and individuals, and they are worried. I hope to be a person with both morality, intelligence and physique in the future.

But there are still 40% people who think that knowledge is more important than ideology and morality.

2. Social morality: reflected in the basic civilization that college students should possess, including observing public order, being polite and honest, cultivating civic awareness and love, marriage and family, etc.

The first three questions in this questionnaire adopt three hypothetical life scene questions.

Littering peels and scraps of paper, giving up your seat on the bus and shopping for change can be seen everywhere in life. As a college student with moral cultivation and ideological quality, it is reasonable to choose "pick it up and throw it into the trash can", "offer your seat" and "return it voluntarily".

However, the survey results show that 50% people think that "more things are not as good as less things". Even in the second question, 5% people choose "never give up their seats", and in the third question, 10% people choose "not to return voluntarily"! Therefore, although the moral level of college students is already very high, and they have a strong sense of identity with noble virtues such as dedication and helping others, there are still many problems.

To cultivate good behavior habits and ideological and moral qualities, we should start from the nuances.

3. Personal moral quality: including moral value orientation, moral cognition, psychological quality, outlook on life, world outlook and values.

There is a question in the questionnaire: What do you think of cheating in exams? The survey results show that 40% people think that cheating is better than make-up exams, 20% people think that getting high marks is understandable, and even "I've done everything", and only 15% people "resent it and never cheat".

It can be reflected from this problem that although contemporary college students have a correct understanding of cheating in exams, they still cheat for various reasons, or express helplessness and recognition of cheating.

Therefore, although the psychology of college students is mature, the instability, incompleteness and contradiction of their understanding of things can not be ignored.

In this questionnaire, I also set a subjective question-what do you think of this questionnaire about moral status? Everyone's answers are as follows: Not bad; Not significant; Knowing the present situation is conducive to self-understanding; The answer setting is not very good. ...

Through this survey and the summary and analysis of the survey results, we have a deeper understanding of the problems and shortcomings of contemporary college students and the importance of ideological and moral education, which is not only related to our personal quality and future development, but also related to the construction of the country and society.

Third, the subjective and objective reasons for the ideological and moral status of college students

The formation of college students' ideological morality is closely related to social economy, politics and culture.

Objectively speaking, the reasons are as follows: First, due to the influence of social environment, the overall quality of China citizens is lacking, which has an impact on college students' moral education since childhood; Second, the traditional exam-oriented education leads schools to pay too much attention to knowledge education and ignore moral education; Third, parents' long-term doting makes some college students lack strong dependence, poor independence, the ability to bear setbacks and the spirit of hard work; Fourth, the imperfect employment system and backward ideas have blocked the employment channels of college students, eroded the achievements of ideological and moral education, and distorted the sense of social responsibility and mission of college students to some extent.

Subjectively, there are the following factors: First, the utilitarian value orientation popular in society has influenced the actual behavior of college students. For example, they know it is wrong to cheat in the exam, but they will do it reluctantly for the sake of their grades.

The second is the division of ideas and actual behaviors; Third, college students are still in the formative period of their outlook on life and values, and their understanding of things is unstable, incomplete and contradictory.

Four. Comments and suggestions

1, positive education orientation

Guided by Marxism-Leninism, * * Thought, * * Theory and * * Important Thought, and combined with the important content of "Eight Honors and Eight Disgraces", we should establish a correct outlook on life, values and morality, cultivate good moral thoughts, and be a new socialist with ideals, morality, culture and discipline.

2. Establish a correct concept

Cultivate lofty patriotism and socialist democracy and legal consciousness, abide by laws and social ethics, perceive moral knowledge through independent experience, form correct moral judgment through real feelings, master moral norms through deep understanding, cultivate moral ability in practice, and gradually form good behavior habits.

3, follow the ideological and moral principles

Ideological and moral education of college students is an organic part of moral education.

In order to combine knowledge education with moral education of college students, the following principles should be followed in moral education: basic principles.

Subjectivity principle.

Practical principle.

The principle of pertinence.

Social principles.

4. Family, school, society and themselves work together.

Ideological and moral education cannot be accomplished overnight, nor can it be completed by one or two people. It needs the close cooperation of schools, families and society to mobilize the strength of the whole society.

Family education plays an important role in the formation of good moral character. Why some students are diligent, polite and cultured, and are deeply loved by teachers, while others are the opposite, which is largely related to family education.

Parents should set an example, put forward requirements and strictly manage their children's moral education.

In addition, the social environment should also be guided by correct public opinion and set an example in time. Only in this way can ideological and moral education get twice the result with half the effort.
