This paper focuses on the design concept and characteristics of high-rise residential buildings and multi-storey residential buildings in the northern regional environment. In the design of residential buildings, we should adapt to the characteristics of the northern regional environment from the room type and orientation. The winter in Northeast China is relatively long and the climate is cold, so the residential design should be different from the geographical characteristics of the south, and the landscape environment should not be emphasized unilaterally. First of all, we should consider the orientation of the house, which should be due south or southeast to southwest, and try to consider how to make the main room sunny all year round. After many times of comparative analysis, high-rise residential buildings can fully meet the above requirements.
