The significance of middle school teachers' writing educational research papers and their topic selection strategies
About the author: Dong Haitao, a special-grade teacher in the Foreign Language Middle School affiliated to Shanghai Normal University, e-mail box: fyszdt001@163.com (Shanghai, 20 1600), enjoys the government subsidy of Songjiang District, Shanghai. He has successively won the honorary titles of super-class teacher in Anhui Province, excellent class teacher in Anhui Province, the first academic leader in Fuyang City, and the first famous teacher. He won the first prize in the competition of high school mathematics for young teachers in Anhui Province and the competition of high school mathematics for young teachers in Fuyang City. More than 60 educational and teaching papers have been published in various magazines.

First, the significance of writing papers by middle school teachers

Many front-line teachers have asked: As a teacher, it is not enough to do a good job, satisfy students, parents and society. Why write educational research papers? Some young teachers lamented: "I also want to write a paper, but it is too difficult to write." What can I do? " Experienced teachers may scoff when reading periodicals: "case articles make up stories, and problem-solving articles pile up numbers." Anyone can write such a paper, but I disdain to write it. "So, what exactly is an educational research paper? Does the teacher need to write a paper? If necessary, how to choose a topic?

To answer the above questions, we must first understand what a thesis is. Bacon, an English thinker, said, "Reading makes a full man, and writing makes a precise man." Writing is the comprehensive embodiment of the author's good listening, intensive reading and reflection, extensive reading, deepening cognition, concise language and diction, while educational research papers are the crystallization of teachers' teaching and research wisdom, the concentrated record of intellectual labor and the refinement and sublimation of teaching and research experience. A good educational paper, like high-quality teaching, embodies the sense of responsibility of teachers, and shows teachers' personal interests and educational research results, rather than the simple accumulation or accumulation of teaching trivia. A good paper helps readers to think deeply, strengthen communication and broaden their horizons. Therefore, the thesis writing of middle school teachers is not only the need to carry out educational research, but also the best way to overcome job burnout.

1. Writing a thesis is the need of educational practice.

Writing papers by front-line teachers in middle schools is a deeper thinking besides preparing lessons and teaching, a dialogue with their own hearts, and a process of sorting out ideas, summing up gains and losses, self-improvement, self-development and self-improvement. Therefore, it will provide important practical materials for the development of China's basic education if teachers can record the teaching cases happening around them in time and reflect and sublimate appropriately in combination with educational theories and curriculum standards. In addition, education and teaching is not only a science, but also an art. The effect of classroom teaching and subject education is closely related to teachers' language charm. Thesis writing is also the sublimation of classroom language and an important tool to inherit educational achievements.

2. Writing papers is the need of teachers' self-growth.

Professor Ye Lan of East China Normal University once said, "A teacher may not become a famous teacher by writing a lifetime lesson plan, but he may become a famous teacher by insisting on writing for three years." The thesis writing of middle school teachers is to put the problems, puzzles or successes in teaching work into writing through their own thinking, share and communicate with more peers, and let more students benefit and improve. Many cases of the growth of famous teachers show that teaching research writing is an important fulcrum and unique path for the development of front-line teachers' teaching profession, and it is also an inevitable need to improve their theoretical level and practical ability and promote their own growth.

3. Writing a thesis is the starting point to overcome job burnout.

Middle school teachers have been struggling in the front line of teaching, and long-term monotonous and repetitive subject teaching work is likely to lead to job burnout. Under normal circumstances, after 10 years of work, teachers are basically familiar with the teaching materials and have achieved certain teaching results, but they may be more likely to get lost and forget their initial intentions; "Old teachers" who have worked for 20 years are more likely to reach the ceiling of career development and lose their development goals. So, how to break through the bottleneck of teachers' professional development? Thesis writing is an important starting point. When teachers see that their thinking and research achievements have been transformed into types and recognized by their peers, pride and sense of accomplishment will arise spontaneously, and they will think and explore related fields more deeply, thus generating professional happiness and effectively overcoming job burnout.

4. Writing papers can accumulate rich research materials.

In the long-term teaching practice, first-line middle school teachers have been exposed to a large number of rich and real teaching cases. These real classroom generation is an important material for educational experts to explain the theory and an important reference for textbook writers to compile textbooks. These real classroom generation are also the unique writing resources and advantages of middle school teachers, which will provide rich original materials for basic education research.

Second, the topic selection strategy of middle school teachers writing educational research papers

Teaching without research is lazy, and research without teaching is empty. Middle school teachers are good at classroom teaching, so when writing educational research papers, they should base themselves on classroom practice, solve the puzzles in teaching, sum up the gains and losses in teaching, serve teaching and improve the quality of education and teaching. The direction of topic selection is an important basis to measure the level of a teaching and research paper, which determines the significance and value of the paper. Based on my own experience, the author summarizes some strategies for writing educational research papers.

1. Tracking hotspots

Hot spots refer to events or problems that are widely concerned by parents, students and teachers, so they have high research and thinking value. Therefore, when writing a thesis, teachers should make use of hot spots to brew topics, grasp the law at the same time, step on the right rhythm, and put forward their own views or plans after in-depth thinking and innovation, so as to follow the trend and not follow the trend. Following the trend is parrot-like, and tracking is attention and thinking; Follow the trend is to follow the footsteps of others, and tracking is to change and innovate.

For example, the research group of "Theoretical Research and Practical Exploration on the Core Concepts, Thinking Method Structure System and Teaching Design of Middle School Mathematics" led by Dr. Zhang Jianyue once discussed the importance of teaching high school mathematics concepts, which coincides with the author's teaching philosophy. Therefore, "how to teach concepts" has become a hot topic of concern to the author. At the same time, the author systematically expounds his understanding of mathematical concept teaching through two papers, namely "Pursuing Nature in Mathematical Concept Teaching" and "Defining the Direction of Mathematical Concept Teaching". Related papers have been published in the magazine Mathematics for Primary and Secondary Schools.

2. Give full play to the characteristics

Every teacher has his own teaching characteristics and teaching style. Some teachers are good at classroom teaching and research, some teachers are good at competition counseling, some teachers are good at quality class competitions, and some teachers are good at solving problems. A person's success is not to make up for his shortcomings infinitely, but to give full play to his strengths infinitely. Therefore, teachers should write their own experiences and insights according to their own characteristics and share them with their peers. It is also an important part of a wonderful paper to exchange, learn and learn from each other.

I have been teaching for 26 years, and I have always regarded classroom teaching as my life, and I also have a lot of experience in senior high school mathematics classroom teaching. The author also participated in the provincial high school mathematics quality class competition or participated in the preparation of lessons for young teachers in the school, and had a deeper understanding of high school mathematics classroom teaching. Based on this, the author has written many papers to explain the true meaning of efficient classroom teaching, including "returning the process to the students and keeping the narration away from the classroom", "Mathematics teaching should be process teaching", "Wonderful explanation cannot replace thinking activities", "Mathematics classroom teaching should be wonderful because of generation" and "Teaching that attaches importance to the process is effective teaching". These papers were published in Mathematics Newsletter (Teachers' Magazine) one after another.

Grab a little bit.

Front-line teachers have limited theoretical study and time and energy, so the topic of thesis writing should be small rather than big, otherwise the content will be blurred because the topic is too big. Therefore, when writing educational research papers, teachers should focus on the daily teaching contents such as textbook interpretation, classroom teaching, problem-solving research and learning method guidance. Such a topic is easy to write, easy to write new ideas, and can be written thoroughly. However, some teachers may have such a misunderstanding. Since it is "grasping the small point", the title of the paper can be "talking", "analyzing" and "my opinion". In fact, these are just a humble expression of the author. If the teacher is really just "talking", then don't talk. "Grasping the small point" means "talking about the deep point".

When the author first started writing his thesis, it was all small papers of about 2000 words, focusing on solving a problem in teaching or making suggestions on a small part of the teaching materials. Gradually, with the improvement of writing level, the number of words in the paper written by the author can gradually reach about 4,000 words, up to 5,000 words. However, the author's requirement for his writing is not the number of words, but he firmly believes that "concentration is the essence." The number of words increased only because there was something to say.

overcome difficulties

In teaching practice, every teacher has his own areas of expertise and his own shortcomings. Of course, it is right to write about your own advantages, but you must be brave enough to break through your own shortcomings, so that you can grow into a famous teacher in your field.

In a school where the author once worked, the number of students was not ideal, and teachers needed to control the difficulty of classroom teaching, which also affected the author's mathematical problem-solving ability to some extent. To this end, the author decided to put pressure on himself, actively study the papers related to problem-solving in professional mathematics magazines, and at the same time study the problem-solving strategies of high school mathematics in combination with daily teaching. In recent years, the author has also published professional papers to solve problems in newspapers.

Step 5 form a blind spot

The teacher will focus on the classic content in the textbook, and the research results are also rich, and typical cases also have bright spots. Therefore, unless there are special designs and highlights, the chances of publishing related papers are not great. In fact, what is more worthy of teachers' discussion is the newly added content in the new curriculum, or the teaching content that some teachers generally don't learn. Due to the lack of teaching results, it will be more meaningful for teachers to choose topics in these aspects. At the same time, if front-line teachers can come up with teaching experience or teaching experience for teaching "blind spots" and then write them in words, they will have more opportunities to express their views in various newspapers and periodicals.

For example, the "statistics" part of high school mathematics is considered "simple" by most teachers, and it quickly passed the test in teaching. This part of the content is not often used as the topic of the paper. However, in the mock exam of senior three, the statistical part often has a high error rate. This phenomenon aroused the author's deep thought, so he wrote the article "Digging the Educational Value of Simple Content Seriously" according to the related phenomenon, and finally published it in the journal of Middle School Mathematics Teaching Committee "Chinese Mathematics Education". Elective part is also an unpopular topic in writing. The author has written two articles, Examples of Understanding and Application of Linear Parametric Equation and Solving Distance Problem by Using the Geometric Meaning of Linear Parametric Equation, which were published in Mathematics for Primary and Secondary Schools (Senior High School) and Mathematics Teaching and Learning for Senior High School respectively.

Third, the conclusion

Research is boundless, you can walk on the ground and dance in the clouds; Teaching should be moderate and simple, so that students can fully understand. As long as teachers are diligent in accumulation, resources bow to their knees; As long as you have the courage to think, ideas will come uninvited; As long as you are brave in practice, you will have a deep understanding of nature [1]. On this basis, teachers will advance from ordinary paper writing to real academic paper writing, and the state of thinking and writing will not be far off. More importantly, the improvement of the depth, breadth and flexibility of thinking and the broadening of vision will enable teachers to better control classroom teaching.
