Originally from Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, Manchu. She was born into a family of crane tamers. 17 years old, working as a temporary worker with his father in Zhalong Nature Reserve, Qiqihar City, responsible for raising tame cranes. 1983, she was responsible for raising young cranes there, and the survival rate of young cranes reached 100%. Therefore, the techniques of incubating, raising and taming cranes in Zhalong Nature Reserve are well-known at home and abroad. David George and Akibo, presidents of the International Crane Foundation, even called it "OK" after visiting. Xu Xiujuan is also concerned by the film and television circles and the press, and public opinion calls her "the first crane tamer in China".
1964 10, Xu Xiujuan was born in a Manchu fisherman's family and a crane-raising family in Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province. She received a good family education since she was a child. Her father is a crane protection engineer in Zhalong Nature Reserve, and her mother raised cranes in Zhalong Nature Reserve for 10 years. When Xu Xiujuan was a child, he often helped his parents feed the little cranes, and he fell in love with the red-crowned cranes imperceptibly.
198 1 year, due to the closure of local high schools, 17-year-old Xu Xiujuan went to Zhalong Nature Reserve with her father to raise cranes, becoming the first crane girl in China. She quickly mastered the whole set of techniques for raising, grazing, breeding, hatching and brooding rare birds such as red-crowned cranes, white-naped cranes and decaying-feather cranes, and the survival rate of her young cranes reached 100%.
1March, 985, Xu Xiujuan went to the department of wildlife of Northeast Forestry University for further study at his own expense. Although the school considered her practical difficulties and reduced her tuition by half, she still couldn't afford a meal of 60 cents a day, and she persisted in studying hard with steamed bread and pickles every day. In the second semester, because she couldn't afford the tuition, her life was unsustainable. She once gave blood several times behind her teachers and classmates' backs, in exchange for some money to maintain her studies. Later, she decided to reduce her two-year study to one and a half years. After hard work, in the final exam, 1 1 scored "excellent" or above 85 points. During this period, she also taught herself English. It was not until her death that people found out in her diary written in English that she exchanged blood for money.
1986 In May, Xu Xiujuan, who just graduated from Northeast Forestry University, received an invitation from Yancheng Nature Reserve, hoping that she could work in Sheyang Beach. Yancheng Nature Reserve echoes Zhalong from afar, one south and one north, and is the main wintering place for red-crowned cranes. If the non-migratory wild population of red-crowned cranes can be established in this place, it will be a major breakthrough, and perhaps this is a world-class scientific and technological topic. Xu Xiujuan persuaded her grandmother, parents and siblings to leave Zhalong Nature Reserve in Qiqihar, which she was familiar with, not far from Wan Li, and went down to Sheyang alone. This is the main wintering ground for red-crowned cranes. There are large beaches and swamps full of reeds and Artemisia halophila. A cascade river from north to south naturally separates the swamp from the village and becomes an ideal habitat for red-crowned cranes. In Yancheng Nature Reserve, Xu Xiujuan's talents have been brought into full play. And use the theoretical knowledge learned to learn crane feeding technology. The paper written by Xu Xiujuan was well received by experts at the third meeting of the Joint Protection Committee of Cranes held in China in 1986.
Xu Xiujuan went to the wintering ground where the red-crowned crane migrated and the Yancheng Nature Reserve in Jiangsu Province, which is under construction, and took three crane eggs with him. This is a gift from Xiujuan to Yancheng Nature Reserve. Three crane eggs are three future cranes to her. Xu Xiujuan took care of the three crane eggs with an artificial leather bag, a warm water bag, half a catty of absorbent cotton and a thermometer. Eggs are packed in artificial leather bags, and cranes will not hatch if the temperature and humidity change slightly. If the boiling water is cut off on the train, she still has to hold the crane eggs in her arms, because the body temperature is about 37 degrees. In this way, the train and the car went all the way, and the little crane finally hatched. The three little cranes are called Longlong, Dandan and Sasha by Xiujuan respectively.
No one knows how Sanhe Egg Xiujuan has been taken care of; But people know that in the most advanced incubator imported from the United States, Xiaohe also died.
After 83 days and nights of careful care, the three little cranes finally spread their wings and flew into the blue sky.
Xu Xiujuan loves these creatures deeply, and cranes have become an inseparable part of her life.
At that time, the best building in the crane yard was an abandoned post with two floors, each of which was less than 6 square meters. There is no doubt that since it is a paradise for birds, it cannot be a prosperous hometown that human beings yearn for. Needless to say, the wind is whistling, the tide is roaring, birds are singing and animals are crying. These are even more indispensable symphonies, and the conditions are even worse than Xu Xiujuan expected.
But Xiujuan girl did not have the slightest fear and retreat, and immediately went to work. Without advanced incubation equipment, a heatable adobe sleeping platform was built with crane eggs, the treasure of Xu Xiujuan. She and two assistants guard day and night for fear that the temperature will get out of control-neither hot nor cold. These babies are a knot in one's heart!
Finally, one day, there was a "beep" sound from an eggshell, which was lower than the sound of a match falling to the ground; The sound is so high that it can break through the clouds and go straight to the sky.
This sound is a March before the birth of a new life. This sound indicates that a miracle will occur: the red-crowned crane successfully hatches in the low-latitude wintering area-this is a world-class problem!
Xiujuan stayed in the dormitory for 8 days because Dawn was ill. Dawn recovered, but she fell ill. Before she recovered from her illness, she experienced another blow. She never imagined that Longlong would vomit blood and die during the injection.
After dawn, she and Mu Ren bathed and played in the opposite river together. Because she was so happy, two swans forgot to go home. Xiujuan looked for them for two days and two nights. On September 16, Xiujuan was found across the river. Her body curled up, as if she was still guilty of losing the swan and blaming herself for the deaths of Dandan and Longlong.
