Pharmaceutical engineering specialty is a comprehensive specialty adjusted by 1998 Ministry of Education. It is an engineering science, which mainly solves the engineering and technical problems in the process of drug production, implements good manufacturing practice (GMP), and realizes the large-scale production and standardized management of drugs. This major is an interdisciplinary subject based on pharmacy (traditional Chinese medicine), biotechnology, chemistry and engineering. It is a practical project to solve the problem of manufacturing drugs by applying chemistry, biotechnology, pharmacy (traditional Chinese medicine), engineering and related scientific theories and technical means. As pharmaceutical engineering is a newly established major in recent years, it is basically determined as a teaching mode with chemical engineering and pharmacy as the main courses and chemical pharmacy, traditional Chinese medicine pharmacy and biopharmaceuticals as the main professional directions. However, the curriculum and experimental teaching arrangements are not the same [2]. In recent years, the state attaches great importance to the biomedical industry and the modernization strategy of traditional Chinese medicine. With China's entry into WTO, Chinese medicine with complete intellectual property rights has attracted more attention, and many provinces and cities have taken biomedicine and Chinese medicine industry as their pillar industries. The training goal of Chinese medicine pharmaceutical engineering specialty is the future Chinese medicine pharmaceutical engineer, who should receive basic engineering training at school. Students majoring in pharmaceutical engineering complete the basic training of engineers through systematic engineering study in the field of traditional Chinese medicine engineering, gain a skill and serve the socialist construction with their professional knowledge and skills. In the course system of Chinese medicine pharmaceutical engineering, there are not many courses related to engineering, especially the separation and extraction of Chinese medicine. The courses involved are generally based on laboratory extraction and separation, and there is no engineering system. We offer the course of "Separation Engineering of Traditional Chinese Medicine" in the major of pharmaceutical engineering (the direction of traditional Chinese medicine pharmacy), closely combining with the ongoing modernization of traditional Chinese medicine in Chinese traditional medicine pharmaceutical enterprises, closely surrounding the modern separation technology of traditional Chinese medicine, and comprehensively and systematically introducing the separation engineering in the process of traditional Chinese medicine pharmacy from the engineering point of view. Including: supercritical fluid separation engineering, ultrasonic and microwave-assisted extraction separation engineering, chromatographic separation engineering, adsorption separation engineering, membrane separation engineering, solid-liquid separation engineering, distillation separation engineering, biological and crystalline separation engineering and other modern separation technologies [3]. In this study, the course of separation engineering of traditional Chinese medicine for pharmaceutical engineering specialty was explored.
