Indoor plants have gradually entered home space, commercial space, schools, hospitals, office space and so on. Indoor plants are almost everywhere, on people's desks, in hospital wards and even in people's bathrooms. Indoor plants have become an indispensable part of our lives. Since 1980, with the concept of green environmental protection put forward, indoor plants have attracted more and more attention. The application of indoor plants in China began to be used for interior decoration in the Neolithic Age, and indoor plants as ornamental plants have been widespread in subsequent dynasties. With the development of the times, indoor plants play a very important role in modern indoor space. At present, the definition of plant color mainly includes four elements: leaves, flowers, fruits and branches. This paper mainly studies the application of leaf color, flower color and fruit color in indoor space. Bringslimark's research shows that green is a relaxing color. Indoor green plants can not only restore the brain waves of office workers in the fastest time, but also relieve personal psychological pressure. Research shows that the application of indoor green plants has a positive impact on people's psychology. This paper aims to create a more comfortable and harmonious indoor space for people through the rational application of indoor plant colors.

Second, the classification of indoor plant colors

We classify plants according to their organs. Indoor plant colors are mainly divided into the following three types: foliage plant colors, flower plant colors and fruit plant colors.

(1) Color of foliage plants

Most foliage plants have green leaves. Of course, the leaves will change from dark green to light green with the seasons. General foliage plants include evergreen plants and colorful plants. Compared with colorful plants, there are many varieties of evergreen plants, such as Fuguizhu, yemen iron, Chlorophytum, Ivy, Green radish and so on. Color-leafed plants in a broad sense refer to indoor plants with leaves other than green, but color-leafed plants do not include non-green plants that appear in response to seasonal changes. Many plants have two or more colors, among which primrose, begonia, rhododendron and rose have three colors, red, yellow and white, and cymbidium has almost six colors.

Fruit-viewing plants usually have higher requirements for sunlight and relatively limited colors. According to its color, it can be divided into red fruit, yellow fruit, green fruit and purple-black fruit plants. Common pomegranate and ornamental apple are red fruits, and yellow fruit plants include kumquat and bergamot. Green fruit plants here include mature fruits in green state, such as some ornamental apples, and all ornamental plants in immature state. It can be said that almost all fruits are green before they are ripe. Purple-black fruit plants include Solanum lyratum and asparagus, but the application of Solanum lyratum and asparagus is more inclined to the application of foliage plants.
