Papers of Kuomintang and Communist Party on Cross-Strait Relations
History is a painting, and the National Political Council is like a flowing picture with the theme of two parties, showing the world the interweaving and combination of various political forces; History is a mirror, and the development of the National Political Council is like a mirror, which shows us the rise and fall of the Kuomintang and the quality of the production party's policies. The National Political Council is the product of the cooperation between the Kuomintang and the Communist Party during the Anti-Japanese War, and it is an indispensable and important issue in the development of democratic politics in the Republic of China. It is a national institution with considerable public opinion that the Kuomintang of China had to set up in the form of soaring democratic voices in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, which played a role in mobilizing the national anti-Japanese forces and heading for national disaster in the protracted national liberation war. In order to clearly express the relationship between the National Council and the state, this paper is divided into four parts: First, the relationship between the early National Council and the state. This part discusses that in the early days of the National Political Council (the first to fifth sessions of the National Political Council), the Kuomintang played the role of the National Political Council, started democracy, unity and resistance to Japan, adopted the "Anti-Japanese War and National Construction Program", and actively adopted the suggestions of democratic internal affairs construction. * * * Relying on the National Political Council, the production party promoted the anti-rape struggle and the constitutional movement, resisted the danger of surrender of the Kuomintang and promoted the development of anti-Japanese democratic politics. This paper affirms the quasi-public opinion of the National Assembly in the early days, not only discusses its positive role in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, but also points out its shortcomings.
