This paper mainly studies the seepage mechanism, seepage mode and seepage law of complex oil and gas reservoirs with low permeability, complex fractures, deformed media, water-bearing gas reservoirs, condensate gas reservoirs, coalbed methane and other complex structural wells, establishes and perfects various seepage models of the complex oil and gas reservoirs, and forms the nonlinear seepage theory and corresponding application technology of the complex seepage. Especially, great progress has been made in the theory, method and technology of numerical simulation and numerical well testing for low permeability oil and gas reservoirs and water-bearing oil and gas reservoirs with complex fractures. The theory, method and technology of numerical simulation, well test analysis and reservoir engineering of complex oil and gas reservoirs are developed.
2. Direction of gas field development theory and method.
This paper mainly studies special gas reservoirs such as condensate gas reservoir, low permeability gas reservoir, fractured gas reservoir, high sulfur gas reservoir development and natural gas storage, and forms fluid phase state, seepage and physical simulation technologies, as well as theoretical methods and supporting technologies for condensate gas reservoir, low permeability gas reservoir and component gas reservoir development and gas reservoir management.

Mainly engaged in the research of basic theory and applied technology of oil and gas exploitation. In view of the major engineering and technical problems in the process of oil and gas exploitation, with fracturing engineering technology, acidizing engineering technology, mechanical oil recovery technology, perforation testing technology and water injection engineering technology as the main targets, significant progress has been made in fracturing and acidizing technology of complex oil and gas reservoirs, perforation testing of complex structural wells, ball plug gas lift oil recovery and so on.

Mainly engaged in the basic theory and application research of chemical flooding for enhanced oil recovery, supporting application technology and research and development of oil displacement chemicals, forming the key technology of polymer research and development in polymer flooding and compound chemical flooding for enhanced oil recovery technology in high temperature and high salt reservoirs, and putting forward the solution of how to establish and improve solution viscosity through intercropping water-soluble polymer molecular chains, so as to obtain high-efficiency tackifying polymers with temperature resistance, salt resistance and shear resistance, which provides a foundation for developing high-efficiency tackifying polymers with temperature resistance, salt resistance and shear resistance suitable for various high temperature and high salt reservoirs.
This subject relies on the State Key Laboratory of Oil and Gas Reservoir Geology and Development Engineering of Southwest Petroleum University, the China-Canada Natural Gas Exploration and Development Training Center, the China Oil Well Completion Technology Center of CNPC aided by the United Nations, and the Sichuan Key Laboratory of Natural Gas Exploitation. Relying on the national and provincial laboratories such as the Key Laboratory of Enhanced Oil Recovery jointly established with China Offshore Oil Corporation and the Key Laboratory of Special Gas Reservoir Development of China Petroleum and Natural Gas Group Corporation, it has formed supporting research capabilities such as development experiment and physical simulation, reservoir fluid analysis, reservoir damage, protection and evaluation, development, pilot test and production of chemical treatment agents for oil recovery.
In recent five years, this discipline has further developed the characteristics of complex oil and gas field development, especially natural gas development and exploitation, and achieved new breakthroughs in the theory and technology of unconventional oil and gas field development and exploitation. On the basis of these research results, three doctoral and master programs have been added in two disciplines: development geology, petroleum engineering calculation technology, oil and gas field materials and applications, and the engineering research center of the Ministry of Education and the experimental base for natural gas development and exploitation in Sichuan Province have been added. We have successively purchased key equipment for unconventional rock analysis-nuclear magnetic resonance core analyzer, gas chromatograph, steam flooding simulation experimental device, wax content tester and other equipment, built a number of experimental equipment such as shale gas fracturing fracture conductivity research equipment and horizontal well multistage fracturing mass flow simulation equipment, and applied for a number of patents related to natural gas hydrate exploitation and ultra-low permeability core displacement.
In view of the characteristics of unconventional and difficult-to-develop oil and gas reservoirs, the matching drilling and production technologies have been preliminarily studied, and new tools such as new comprehensive logging instruments have been developed, which have basically reached the leading level in China. Focusing on the formation and fluid characteristics of difficult-to-develop oil and gas reservoirs, the basic laws, enhanced oil recovery technology and drilling and production technology in the development process are studied. A perfect experimental device for unconventional reservoir physics, basic signal detection equipment and electron microscope are established.
This direction has undertaken a number of major special projects funded by the National Natural Fund of China and the Ministry of Education, and has close cooperation with surrounding research units in this respect, with a solid research foundation. Petroleum engineering major is an undergraduate major approved in 2008 to meet the urgent demand for high-quality petroleum talents in the development of the old industrial base in Northeast China, and enrolled students nationwide in the same year.
